Habits like:

How we talk to ourselves and others

Our eating habits

Smoking & drinking alcohol

Being active& working out

Our sleep routines

The love you show to their parents

How you deal with hard times & difficult situations

How you communicate

They are watching everything

And we’re only human, we’re not going to get everything right all the time. We’re going to make mistakes

But when you make genuine change & have a healthier lifestyle & mindset. Your children adopt that too

Mums… I know it’s hard! Especially when you have young kids

Balancing everything is a real challenge

I’m sharing the reality of what it looks like so you know that what you’re doing, or what your fitness journey looks like, is also normal for someone in your situation

It’s not ideal. It’s not always motivating. It’s not always easy. It’s not aesthetically pleasing. It’s not enjoyable sometimes

But it’s absolutely necessary that you do it for your mental & physical health

Because eventually this stage will pass and we will be in our sexy mum area, looking and feeling great because of the action we’re taking now

And soon we will be back in the actual gym, having that well deserved me time

But for now, this is where we’re at and this is what we have to do to keep moving forward

Even if it doesn’t feel like progress, it really is! It’s always 10 times better than not doing anything at all and letting things go

You got this 🫶🏻🏋🏼‍♀️💪🏼

20 year old me and my fitness journey looked and felt a lot different than it does now

I had little responsibility

I had my 9-5 job, I lived at home, had loads of time on my hands. Only had to worry about myself. Only had to keep my room clean. I had a consistent routine. I was free to basically do what ever I wanted, whenever I wanted. Loads of energy & everything was just new & exciting

Now… 😅

My life looks a lot different now im 29 & in a completely different stage of my life

I now have a little human to look after & what’s happening in this little world also affects mine. When he’s ill, when he’s not sleeping, when hes teething

I have a whole house to maintain, keep clean, run & organize

I’m running my own business where if I don’t do something, it doesn’t get done. It’s not just the PT sessions that make up my hours, it’s everything else that comes with a business

All of this takes a lot of my time, energy & motivation

I’ve never actually felt like this before now…. Atm my fitness feels like another chore for the first time in my life🤯

I still have a HUGE love for training & everything it does for our physical & mental health

I still absolutely LOVE helping others reach their goals & full potential

But right now, my own training? With being pregnant on top of everything else? My motivation has never been so low. It’s literally non existent at the moment

I still show up for myself. But it really requires a lot more mental effort & energy to do it

I know this is just a phase & it will pass when things settle down & I find my rhythm

But now I truly understand how many women/mums feel. When they just don’t feel motivated

Because after your others responsibilities, it can be so hard to find the energy to then prioritize yourself

For the first time, I can really relate to that feeling of just not wanting to do it & not having the drive to do what I need to do

Even though I know it’s the best thing I can do for myself & my health

I’m going to keep pushing through & try my best, in hopes that in time, that feeling of enjoyment comes back again 🤞🏼

So happy that I’m still able to “run” at 25 weeks pregnant (pushing a combined weight of 15kg with the pushchair)👶🏽

After not running for 2.5 week, due to the fact that I must of been having some insane hormonal release / growth spurt, and being ABSOLUTELY exhausted

It thought I wasn’t going to be able to continue running after feeling SOOO bad for two weeks. But the last week has been much more manageable

So I thought I’d test the waters today 🏃🏼‍♀️

And I was able to complete 4k in 33 minutes

The goal I set myself was to just run for 30 minutes without stopping and to not worry about distance

At 30 minutes I was almost at 4k so I just had to round the numbers up🤣

Hopefully I can start doing this again weekly 🤞🏼🏃🏼‍♀️

I DEFFO need to get a bump support now though as I can really feel the pressure and that slowed me down

You don’t have to go to the gym to see results, I have several girls on the team that are smashing their journeys, doing home workouts 🏋🏼‍♀️

Health and fitness looks different for everyone! All depending on their individual circumstances & goals

It’s not a one shoe fits all approach 🙅🏼‍♀️

The best plan is the one you can stick to consistently overtime ☺️

LAUREENNNNN🤯😍🙌🏼

The photos on the right are the end of a bulk where Lauren was eating 3100 calorie per day 😅

The left is after a cut of 1800 calories💅🏼

When I first met Lauren she was training everyday but was really neglecting her nutrition. She was eating a little as she could, thinking this is what she needed to do to see a change in her body

But actually, it was having the opposite effect! She was not giving her body enough to grow & really change. So she found herself putting in loads of effort and getting little result

If you really want to change your body you have to feed it! You have to fuel it so you can push harder and recover (and growth) more effectively

We not only change what she was eating… we also changed the exercises she was doing

She had no structure to her routine, no progressive overload, no purpose or specific outcome. She was essentially just winging it and hoping for the best

We stopped focusing on only isolated exercises and incorporated all of the most effective compound movements. Also, focused on improving her form, her range of movement & her strength

Then we increased her calories and pushed hard!! When the time was right, we did a strict cut

But she has to go through the uncomfortable phase of feeling “fluffy” and gaining a few pounds first

All of which has built this curvy, sexy, defined, toned physique she has now 😍

Now she is ABSOLUTELY loving life on holiday. Feeling sexy, confident & proud of her effort & commitment

She’s the healthiest, strongest, sexiest & happiest she’s been🤩🏋🏼‍♀️💅🏼✨

This is your reminder to stop starving yourself & to get in the gym & lift some heavy weights! 👀

It’s easy to look at workout videos on insta & think that it just looks so easy for them to get it done

But what you don’t see is the thoughts that go through our head before the workouts

The exact same nature of thoughts that you also have. They may be different in what they are saying, but they are still causing resistance

Forexample:

“I’m too tired today”

“I don’t want to have to go through the effort of both training & training to entertain jordan today, it feels too much”

“I just have no motivation today”

“What’s the point if Jordan’s only going to cut it short again”

“I have to get us both ready to do this AGAIN this morning, it’s too much effort before even starting the workout”

“It’s the same thing again, it’s so boring & tedious. There’s other things I could be doing instead”

And before I was pregnant & had a baby, my negative thoughts were different but they were still there

We all get them

Just some of us choose not to listen to them and just try & do it anyway

If we have one bad session or bad day, we just try again tomorrow

You don’t know what’s going to happen until it does.

So get up, put some music on, try and do what you need to do (or can do) on each day

And try everyday as a new day

This is how you stay consistent, even when the circumstances aren’t ideal

You only learn how to manage the obstacles & challenges, when you put yourself in those situations. It’s only then that you know what you need to change or do differently to make it doable for you

Stop waiting for things to be ideal or perfectly, because honestly… they never are
