Congratulations to KΔ™stutis on receiving his Dan Grade (Black Belt) certificate πŸ₯‹πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

We are delighted to celebrate KΔ™stutis receiving his official Dan Grade diploma, issued by the Japan Karate Shotorenmei (JKS) in Japanβ€”a recognition of years of dedication, perseverance and hard work.

KΔ™stutis' karate journey began long before he ever stepped onto the dojo floor. Growing up in Lithuania, he dreamed of learning karate after being inspired by The Karate Kid, but at the time there were no opportunities to train where he lived.

It wasn't until he moved to the UK that his dream finally became possible. When his children started karate, KΔ™stutis found himself watching from the sidelines. Like so many parents, he was inspired by what he saw, decided to give it a try himself, and quickly became hooked.

Through commitment, determination and a genuine passion for karate, KΔ™stutis has earned the respect of everyone at the club. His black belt represents not only technical ability, but also the determination to fulfil a childhood dream many years in the making.

We couldn't be prouder of everything he has achieved and look forward to seeing the next chapter of his martial arts journey.

Congratulations, KΔ™stutis. Everyone at the club is incredibly proud of you! πŸ₯‹πŸ‘

Congratulations to Ahmid on receiving his Dan Grade (Black Belt) certificate πŸ₯‹πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

We are delighted to celebrate Ahmid receiving his official Dan Grade diploma, issued by the Japan Karate Shotorenmei (JKS) in Japanβ€”a recognition of years of dedication, perseverance and hard work.

Ahmid’s journey is about far more than karate. After coming to the UK from Syria as a young war refugee, he faced the challenge of adapting to a new country, culture and language. From joining the club to becoming a valued and supportive member, his progress has been truly inspiring.

Through commitment, humility and a genuine love for karate, Ahmid has earned the respect of everyone at the club. His black belt represents not only technical ability, but also resilience, courage and strength of character.

We could not be prouder of everything he has achieved and look forward to seeing the next chapter of his martial arts journey.

Congratulations, Ahmid. Everyone is incredibly proud of you! πŸ₯‹πŸ‘

A fantastic day at the JKS Scotland National Championships and some outstanding performances from our competitors.

Between them, our competitors brought home an impressive 13 medals across kata and kumite events.

Beyond the medals, what stood out most was the way everyone supported and encouraged one another throughout the day. Whether competing, officiating, or cheering from the sidelines, there was a real sense of teamwork from start to finish. It was great to see competitors celebrating each other's successes, helping one another through challenges, and representing the dojo with respect, determination, and sportsmanship.

Congratulations to:

A special well done to everyone who competed at this level for the first time. Stepping onto the floor at a national championship takes courage, and every competitor should be proud of their efforts.

Thank you to all competitors, parents, and JKS Scotland for making the event possible.

Well done everyone.
