Tonight we had the pleasure of attending the Volunteer Awards 2026, where we were honoured to be nominated for Club of the Year and to see Alison Sheppard nominated for Coach of the Year.

While it wasn’t our year to take home the awards, we are incredibly proud to have been recognised alongside so many fantastic clubs, coaches and volunteers who make such a positive impact in our community.

A huge congratulations to Stirling County RFC on winning Club of the Year. A thoroughly deserved achievement, recognising the incredible contribution they make both on and off the pitch within the local community. And to their coach Brodie for Coach of the Year.

Thank you to everyone who supports our club and helps make what we do possible. We look forward to continuing to grow, develop and make a difference together.

A huge congratulations to Performance Swimmer Ethan Collins on securing 3rd Place in the 100m Butterfly at the Scottish Schools Swimming Championships in Aberdeen.

Competing against some of the best school-age swimmers in Scotland, Ethan delivered a fantastic performance to earn a place on the podium and bring home a well-deserved bronze medal.

Your hard work, dedication and commitment in training continue to pay off, and everyone at Phoenix Aquatics is incredibly proud of your achievement.

Another valuable day of international racing for Logan Vandermeulen representing the Scottish Swimming National Senior Team.

Competing against world-class opposition provides invaluable experience and another opportunity to test himself on the international stage.

We are incredibly proud of Logan’s commitment, professionalism, and the way he represented both Scotland and Phoenix Aquatics throughout the weekend.

The work continues, the experience grows, and the focus now turns to the next challenge.

After the horrible news about the loss of the lives of 4 children over the weekend, we feel more needs to reach the general public about the dangers of open water.

Please share this far and wide!

⚠️ Safety notice: Blue-green algae has been identified in Airthrey Loch. Please avoid all contact with the water until further notice.

Contact with the algae, and the toxins produced, can result in ill- health and can be fatal for small animals, including dogs. There is also a risk associated with the consumption of fish caught in the Loch at this time.

Algae blooms are common in lochs at this time of year, due to the warm and sunny weather, and where levels of nutrients are high in the water.

Please report any incidents involving contact with the loch to Security.
