I had the pleasure of training Vicki and Lisa over the weekend.

They both attended one of my NNAS Bronze Navigator courses. Being keen trail runners, and with previous experience, we also managed to cover a few bolt-on skills from the Silver Navigator course (without overloading) to give them a few extra tools in their navigation tool box, before they venture off on their next epic run/trek/adventure!

Over the weekend, we covered a whole range of training modules, enabled Vicki and Lisa to gain the skills needed to competently plan routes and navigate on tracks, paths and trails.

We were training in the Avebury and Marlborough area, where we had the chance to visit numerous places of interest, a mixture of terrain and areas that offered ideal features for training scenarios, giving me the opportunity to provide the best training possible for Vicki and Lisa.

Despite the heat, both Lisa and Vicki done very well with the training and have successfully passed the NNAS Bronze Navigator Award.

Great Stuff !!! πŸ‘πŸ‘

WHAT AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE !

I just come back from attempting my first Marathon in about 5 years.
But also my first international Marathon.

All thanks to my friend Adam, who invited me and made the whole trip possible. It's genuinely been one of the most amazing experiences of my life..

The Marathon was in Riga, Latvia, which if you haven't been, GO! It's amazing everyone's so welcoming and supportive. πŸ’™

The event itself was organised by .latvija and I must say it was so well organised, the route was perfect, with lots of support throughout by the race staff and not to mention the people of Latvia were out supporting us runners too. πŸ™Œ

They even had a choir singing on one of the main sections of the route, which if you were in that moment, it was really special, the energy you got from hearing them sing, as you past them... Outstanding. πŸ™

Anyway, I put a little video together, and had to edit and rip out all the music I put in because of copyright laws 🀦🀷🏼🀣 So it is what it is, if you wanna have a watch please do.

Unfortunately, for various reasons I'd done zero training, not clever and I definitely don't recommend.

Again a massive thank you to all Involved in organising, but also to the people of Riga, Latvia πŸ™ πŸ™Œ πŸ’™

Finally a massive thank you to Adam πŸ‘ who also took part and done incredibly well.πŸŽ‰

So my first official marathon since the Virtual London Marathon during Covid, is next Sunday!!!!

I'll be off to Rimi Riga in Latvia, with Adam.

This is gonna be fun..... 🀣😬

Probably would've helped if I trained for it, as the last run (trail) that I done over 5km, was back in February on me Birthday. But I'll summon all the strength possible, and the wisdom gained from watching/following Glaze and Goggins πŸ€ͺπŸ€£πŸƒπŸΌ

I'll be crossing the finish line πŸ‘

Oh well, it is what it is.

A massive shout out to for making this all happen, massively appreciated.

Really looking forward to the blisters (not)... thanks to my skin condition Epidermolysis bullosa simplex. It's gonna hurt 😞 But it'll be worth it.
