Two weeks ago, we headed to Sweden with Hilleberg and the Outdoor Academy of Scandinavia for three days packed with outdoor adventure, learning and some seriously good kit.

We hiked the West Swedish coast, learnt about navigation, camped in Hilleberg tents, cooked outdoors with Primus and Light My Fire, tested kit from some brilliant brands and even took to the sea in kayaks.

And, of course, no trip to Sweden would be complete without a sauna and a very cold swim!

We had an amazing few days and have put together a video showing what we got up to.

Our team recently headed to the west coast of Sweden for an incredible few days of adventure, learning and getting hands-on with some of the biggest names in outdoor kit.

Working alongside Hilleberg, Silva, Primus, Gore-Tex and a host of other brilliant brands, the team had the opportunity to test new kit in real-world conditions, hike through the stunning Swedish landscape and take on a sea kayaking trip through the islands along the west coast.

The brands also put on a series of sessions throughout the trip, giving the team the chance to learn more about the technology, design and thinking behind the products, as well as how to get the most out of the kit in the outdoors.

It was a great opportunity to experience products first-hand, learn directly from the people who design and develop them, and build knowledge that can be brought back to our stores and shared with our customers.

And, of course, it wouldn't be a Taunton Leisure trip without some great people, plenty of adventure and a lot of laughs along the way.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the trip such a memorable one.

One of SCARPA's most recognisable approach shoes just got an update.

The Crux has been a firm favourite for years, and for Winter 2026 it evolves into the Crux 2 - keeping the qualities that made the original so popular while refining the design for the next generation.

The big addition is the Crux 2 GTX. For the first time, the Crux 2 gets a GORE-TEX ePE membrane, giving you waterproof protection alongside its familiar approach-focused performance, Vibram Megagrip outsole and durable suede upper.

Your hardshell isn't just for rain.

We tend to think of a waterproof jacket as something you reach for when it starts raining. But on exposed ground, a hardshell can be just as useful for protecting you from strong wind.

Caught out without a windproof? Your hardshell can provide an effective barrier against the wind and help retain warmth when conditions change.

That said, a hardshell isn't always the best choice. In dry, windy conditions, a dedicated windproof will usually be lighter and more breathable.

The important thing is knowing what each layer is designed to do - and when to use it.

Good layering is about reading the conditions, not just the forecast.
