T20 skipper Harry Fox after the midweek win against South Kirkby:
“Hot one this evening for the gents who were bowling first.
All bowlers played their part and the wickets were shared out, Jimmy, Will and Gee with two apiece, Jason and Ben with one each. All bowlers bowled really economically and we managed to restrict Kirby to 57 off their 20.
In reply the inform Josh Buxton pretty much did the work himself with a quick 40* off just 23 balls. We finished it off for an emphatic 9 wicket win.
MOTM: Josh for his quality knock on a tricky pitch.”

Second team captain Jason Herridge after another tight game:
“The seconds batted first on what was a glorious day and got off to a flyer with James and Drew putting on yet another strong opening partnership.
Momentum was halted with the loss of three quick wickets before Andrew and Mick came in to steady the ship - however both were dismissed as they looked to up the rate.
In walks Captain Herridge who with strong support from Matt guided the grove to a respectable 136-8.
In reply, Nostell made steady but safe headway before a great spell from Matt, picking up two wickets to halt their progress.
I brought myself into the attack and with the pitch offering a bit of turn picked up 4 quick wickets as the Grove smelt blood.
Nostell however dug in and edged themselves to victory by 4 wickets in the penultimate over.
VC Proctor: Herridge claims POTM with 29 runs and 4-23.
Onto next week where we need to start turning decent performances into points.”

First team skipper Tim Turner after the win against Askern Welfare:
“Splendid day on Saturday for the 1sts, weather included! Surprisingly, I won the toss and chose to bat first. We welcomed back James Davies who started well. Tom Buxton once again got us off to a fantastic start and ended up finishing on 81. After a few quick wickets, Ethan managed to stay in with Tom for a respectable 21. But the key to our innings was a late 44 from Josh Buxton and Pat getting a solid 13*. We finished on 211/9 from our 46 overs.
Joe Clough and Ethan opened the bowling and were fantastic. Joe bowled 14 overs straight through and took 4 vital wickets. Harry Fox and Mikey Towned followed up with some tight bowling. Foxy taking 4 of his own. We managed to keep Askern to 147 to bring home the win. Great fielding all around too.
My POTM was Tom Buxton AGAIN - solid performance with the bat and played a sensible innings. Doesn’t sound like T Buck does it? Well done again mate, long may it continue.”

A busy weekend for Fox who also captained the first team’s cup game against Crofton seconds:
“Sunday saw us play our opening fixture in the Skidmore cup.
Calder won the toss and chose to bat first. Tom as usual got us off to a good start hitting 62. Myself and ryan consolidated the score and Ryan eventually finished with an attritional 59. Josh aka the finisher put in a good final over to see us set 210 on a tricky wicket.
The bowling was tight from everyone and we picked up regular wickets, pick of the bowlers surprisingly was Tom with some interesting shots from Crofton, he finished with 4 scalps. We managed to beat the rain and bowled them out for a 60 run win.
POTM: Tom B for the start he gave us with the bat and wrapping things up with the ball.”
