Michael Hodgkins scored a match-winning century on Saturday, making a superb 108 from 134 balls to set up the Second XIโ€™s victory away at Sandal.

A true club stalwart, Michael has taken on the role of opening batter this season and has thrived, already amassing 335 runs in a superb start to the campaign.

A fantastic contribution from one of Carltonโ€™s finest servants. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ

๐ŸŸข Monday Night Ladies Cricket ๐ŸŸก

Itโ€™s Monday, and ladiesโ€™ cricket training is still due to go ahead as planned tonight at 6pm โ€” although weโ€™ll be keeping a close eye on the weather! ๐ŸŒฆ๏ธ

Everyone is welcome. No equipment needed, no experience required โ€” just come along, have some fun and give cricket a go! ๐Ÿ

Coach Kieron will make a decision later this afternoon, giving the weather every chance to improve despite the dodgy forecast. Please keep an eye on our page for any updates.

Carlton U13s extend lead after nail-biter against Colton

On Wednesday the U13s hosted an excellent Methley team in the Heavy Woollen League. Despite some good bowling Methley posted a target of 193/1. In reply Ben Bragg scored his first 25* retirement earning Player of the Match, with support from Ben Broadbent, but ultimately Methley had too many to chase.

On Friday the U13s welcomed Colton in a top-of-the-table clash in the Leeds & Wetherby League. Aahil Ilyas got Carlton off to a fantastic start with 26 off 20 balls. Coltonโ€™s bowling made it difficult for the middle order to score runs, but a useful partnership between Will Dobson and Abdullah Sarfaraz pushed the total up to 98. To win the game Carlton needed to be excellent with the ball, and got off to an amazing start with Will Ward and Harrison rocks taking 5 wickets in the first 4 overs. Colton did well to get themselves back into the game and got on top towards the end, but Will and Harrison came back to each take another wicket in the final overs to win the game by 4 runs, each taking 3 wickets in the game, with Will taking Player of the Match, and Carlton remain top of the league!

On Sunday the U9s played at home to Scarcroft CC. Scarcroft batted first with two strong opening pairs setting the pace. Some tight bowling with maidens from Oliver Pakes and a wicket maiden from Shah Qasim kept the score in control. Carlton batted well in reply, but unfortunately a few catches from Scarcroft saw Carlton miss out on the win by 12 runs. Player of the Match went to Thomas Plant with some excellent fielding getting two run outs and a stand out batting performance of 29 including five 4s.

Well done to all teams!

Carlton CC welcomes players of all abilities across all age-groups. If your child is interested please email [email protected] or message us on here on Facebook.

๐Ÿ”ฐ This Weekend ๐Ÿ”ฐ

The First XI are at home again this weekend and welcome Bradford & Bingley to Town Street. B&B sit fifth in the table, two places above ourselves, so it should be a close encounter!

The Second XI travel to Sandal, where they will be looking to build on last weekโ€™s form.

Patrick Forbes makes his senior debut after impressing in the juniors and the development team over the last couple of seasons.

Good luck, lads! ๐Ÿ€
