Monday Night Over 10s Gi Andrew Smith 🏴‍☠️

Congratulations to Mia and Fletcher on receiving their grey and white belt promotions last night 🥋📈

Both students train very consistently and have shown great progress and understanding in their jiu jitsu so far, but most importantly enjoying the process of learning, being great training partners to others and a pleasure to coach at the academy

Well done to Isla and Jack who also received their well deserved stripes👏🏽

Every progression and success within the team is a reflection of not only the individuals but everyone’s collective efforts and dedication to their training and each other

That’s what’s so special about Jiu Jitsu, it just doesn’t work without each other 🤝🏽

We currently have a short waiting list for our kids age 5-9s classes and a few slots available for 10-15s

Wednesday Night in the Gi .jiujitsu 🏴‍☠️🥋

Another fantastic night of training with the team last night. It’s great to see more new friendly faces in both kids and adults classes, enjoying their first experiences of jiu-jitsu with our team who always help them feel super welcome and supported throughout the classes 🙏🏽

Congratulations to everyone who earned some more stripes on their belt for all there hard work and dedication to their training and each other within the team 🏴‍☠️

It’s great to see everyone progressing as individuals on their journey and even greater to see just how happy everyone is for each others successes along the way no matter how big or small 🙌🏽

That’s what it’s all about, lifting each other up, a rising tide lifts all boats .jiujitsu 🛶 🌊 🏴‍☠️

A fantastic Sunday Service and farewell brunch with the team this morning as we wish our friend Javo the very best in his next chapter as he moves darn sarth with his family and work life

It’s been a pleasure to have his good energy and hunger for training and learning within the team, always pushing the pace and with a big smile

The whole team wish him all the very best for the future and long live the famous high crotch guilotine defence that gave him the nickname ‘JavoAirlines’ 💪🏽

Helping Develop ‘Champions in Life’ 🏆🏴‍☠️

One of our philosophies that we value highly is the development of ’Champions in Life’ not just ‘Champions in Jiu-Jitsu’

The focus upon building the fundamental characteristics of what it means to be a good person

To develop and display qualities of character

Respect, Kindness, Resilience, Confidence, Discipline, Compassion to say just a few

Through this whats also created is a more positive, safe and supportive environment for people to grow

And it’s actually within that growth environment that people perform at their best and are more likely to become champions not just on the mats but off the mats too

And that’s what matters most to us, that people’s experience and time here is helping them develop a more positive life in other areas not just within their jiu-jitsu

A fantastic morning of high energy, great training and wholesome promotions with our amazing kids team this morning

A true reflection of the hard work and consistency from all of our members, coaches and parents who bring them to every class and allow us this great privilege to help their children in their development

A fantastic day out competing with the team Manchester 🏴‍☠️🤼‍♂️🥋

Some great performances from both kids and adults today, some wins, some losses but always plenty of experience to learn, grow and develop from 📈

We are very proud of the whole team especially those who have had the courage and commitment to step out their comfort zone and into competition for the first time 🏴‍☠️

Thank you to everyone who came today and the whole Blackbeard Team for their continued efforts and support 🙏🏽

We are already looking forward to the next one 🏆

We’ve been exploring options for beating your opponent’s defensive frames from top side control and setting up some submission attacks for the triangle and arm bars 💪🏽

A great night of learning, training, rolling and as always having fun with the team 🙌🏽
