A PICTURE THAT DESERVES ITS OWN POST!

Today, Worcester City ABC put on another great home show, with 11 of our boxers stepping through the ropes — but this picture is about something even bigger.

2026 marks 80 years of Worcester City ABC. 🥊

At the front left is John Curnock, who has played a huge part in getting the club to where it is today. His dedication and commitment have helped shape the club we know today.

At the front right is Vic Cartwright, another true gentleman who never gave up on the club and gave so many hours to the sport he played a massive part in making Worcester City ABC what it is today.

At the back left is Steve Brown, an ex-coach who remains a huge part of the club. Steve gave countless hours to pushing generations of boxers to their limits and helping them perform at their best inside the ring.

And at the back right is Michael Underwood — one of the OG’s and still our Head Coach and Treasurer today. Michael has an incredible 57 years of service to Worcester City ABC and has even been awarded an MBE for his services to boxing.

You won’t see a Worcester boxer at a show without this man somewhere in their corner. He truly is one of the backbones of this club — and at 57 years of service, he’s still going strong! 🥊

Four incredible people who have given so much to Worcester City ABC.

We will forever be grateful for everything you have done — and continue to do — for this club.

80 years strong.
Worcester City ABC — past, present and future. ❤️🥊

What a great write-up for Worcester City ABC!

A fantastic touch on the history of our club, from where it all began right through to the present day.

Over the years, Worcester City ABC has welcomed boxers of all ages and abilities. We’ve been incredibly fortunate to have coaches who have volunteered their time, knowledge and dedication to help develop generations of boxers — many of whom have gone on to win medals, championships and even progress into professional boxing.

The club will always remember its roots and make sure that everyone who has been part of Worcester City ABC, whether they are here today or have moved on, will always be remembered for the time, effort and commitment they have given to the club.

A huge thank you to Alan Edwards & family, John Curnock & family, Derek Jinks & family and Michael Underwood & family, who have stood by the club and supported it for so many years.

And to the coaches who have played such an important part along the way: Steve Brown, Carl Crawford, Harry Butler, Alfie Butler, Luke Bryce, Ernie Smith and Shaun Finn.

The list could go on, and there are so many more people who have played their part in making Worcester City ABC what it is today.

From the past, to the present, and into the future — what a club to be part of!

Here’s to many more years of Worcester City ABC! ❤️

1946 – Forever. 🥊🥇🏆

WHAT A PERFORMANCE FROM Stuart Hope

Stuart boxed outstandingly from the very first bell of Round 1! After a close opening round, Stuart came out for Round 2 and never let off the gas, applying constant pressure and landing some solid punches.

He continued to dominate into Round 3 and got the stoppage, taking the win by RSC in the 3rd round! 👊💥

That victory sends Stuart through to the Midlands Finals! 🏆🥊

Brilliant performance, Stuart — onto the next one! 🔥 🥊🥇🏆
