We held the Worcestershire Walking Football League AGM last night, with clubs and committee members coming together to reflect on another successful year and make plans for the season ahead.

Over the next few days, we’ll be sharing details of the various leagues that will make up the 2026/27 season.

First up is our Over 50s Premier Division…

With a mixture of established clubs and new challengers, the division promises to be as competitive as ever. We can’t wait to see the action get underway.

On Friday 5th June, nearly 100 members of the Worcestershire football community came together at Redditch Borough Football Club to celebrate the people who make grassroots football thrive at Worcestershire FA's Annual Awards 2026.

βš½πŸ† WWFL Represented with Pride at the Inter-League Finals πŸ†βš½

Our Over 50s Representative Team proudly represented the Worcestershire Walking Football League at the Inter-League Finals in Coleshill yesterday.

Made up of players from five of the eight clubs in our league, the squad acquitted themselves superbly against some of the strongest leagues in the country.

The team's results included:
βœ… Victory over Durham
🀝 Draws with Lancashire and Norfolk
⚽ Narrow one-goal defeats against eventual winners Dorset and runners-up Essex

The performances, attitude and team spirit shown throughout the day were a real credit to both the players and the league.

Congratulations to Solihull Moors Walking F.C. on winning the Over 60s Walking Football Tournament yesterday, overcoming newcomers Stratford Town Walking Football Club in a closely contested final, settled by a dramatic golden goal.

Meanwhile, congratulations to Evesham Utd Walking Robins, who were victorious in the Plate Competition. πŸ‘

βš½πŸ† Our First Ever Over 65s League is Taking Shape! πŸ†βš½

We’re delighted to announce that our inaugural Worcestershire Walking Football League Over 65s Division is looking incredibly strong for the 2026/27 season, with nine teams already registering their interest.

The continued growth of the league is fantastic to see and demonstrates the increasing popularity of walking football across the region. It’s particularly encouraging to welcome new teams alongside established clubs as we continue to provide more playing opportunities for older age groups.

The Worcestershire Walking Football League continues to expand, attract new teams, and strengthen the walking football community throughout the county.

We can’t wait to get the season underway and look forward to another exciting chapter for the league.

To achieve this in a county with a football catchment area of over 600,000 people is an incredible accomplishment and a huge endorsement of everything that walking football is achieving across Worcestershire.

This award belongs to everyone involved in the league – our clubs, players, referees, volunteers, sponsors, and committee members. Your passion, commitment, and support have helped create something truly special.

Two years ago, this was just an idea. Today, we're proud to be recognised as the county's League of the Year once again.

We are delighted to announce that our Over 50s Division has expanded to 10 teams for the 2026/27 Worcestershire Walking Football League season!
