Thankfully not as many as I thought to get out of my phone and onto the World Wide Web. 👀

We’ve tried to have a bit of a quieter August so to catch up on painting etc etc…

Horses are now creeping back up in numbers and I can’t say the list of things to do has quite been completed… 📝

But at least I can delete a few photos now so my phone will stop whining at me.

Mahons Glory and Mexican Stan are just over 3 weeks into their ‘holiday’ at Ash’s and are enjoying the sunshine. ☀️

They get on like a brilliantly and seem very content following each other round the field.

Mexican Stan is giving Mahons lots of tips of how to be a very fast racehorse …. 🏇🏽

Mahons is nodding his head and trying his best not to bring out the ‘do you know who I am’ to Stan…. 😅

‘Baggsey’ is not exactly a new arrival….

He’s been here since the end of July.

He is a big strong 3year old by Logician.

So far so good and he has taken everything very well to this point….

He does have enough about him to mean I’m yet to ride him on a Monday morning. 😂

He doesn’t wear a fly rug because he likes to try and push through the top wire of the electric fencing to reach the equally parched grass on the other side ?!?

So much hay.

We’re feeding hay continually at the moment … in the stable, in the fields (that’s it)

The horses are still in during the day and out at night at the moment but that could be set to switch soon with rain on the way. 🙏🏻’apparently’…

The hay in the fields is mainly eaten but is also: wee’d on, pooed on, slept on, rolled on, dug up and generally mistreated. (Poor hay)
I know this is boring isn’t it. I’m bored of writing it but Facebook keeps moaning at me for not posting something on this page so here I am…. Jumping through fb’s hoops: begrudgingly.

Don’t worry I’m about to post several posts … they’ll all be boring so don’t hold your breath.
That sort of tom foolery should be saved for when swimming under water, getting a spray tan on your face or when you’ve eaten garlic then somebody stands too close to you…. 🧄

Alibey went back to Dylan Cunha Racing LTD towards the back end of July after coming up to us for a holiday 🌿 and then a month of pre training before heading back to Dylan’s.
She always seems to enjoy her time here and finds Worcester life very chilled.
Shes a pleasure to have around and a lovely filly to deal with.
We’ll hopefully see her get her head in front again before the end of the summer/autumn and can’t see any reason that she won’t in the capable hands of Dylan.
Shes very genuine and would gallop through a brick wall if you asked her to.
(Nb: I have never and will never ask any horse to gallop through a brick wall…)

Thelma and Louise have left ….

They didn’t drive off the edge of a cliff like they do in the movie ….
They can’t actually drive for a start!

I didn’t get many photos of them whilst they were here… and I’m not going to make up an excuse - I just wasn’t always outside when the boys were doing them …. And sometimes I had gone in and opened the cheese …
Which is at least an entire afternoon lost to Jacob’s crackers and numerous types of cheeses… don’t mind a bit of quince jelly either.

Applewood and goats cheese my current top hits.



Ps: Thelma and Louise were both fine - they’ve gone home now to think about what they’ve learnt and to attempt to grow into Lee’s legs.. 😂

Neither of them wanted to take any cheese back with them… which was good - because even if they’d have asked - I’d have obviously said no.

And no I never got round to pulling their manes.

PP at Daves this morning on his way back from the Walker …

It’s been two weeks since Play Pretend (Fury) ran and he’s spent the time since on the Walker and in the stable…
His legs seem to have settled back down so (I think) we’re ok…
He’ll be turned out next week and then in a couple of weeks we’ll pick him back up and get going again to have a few spins in the autumn … on nicer ground - unless we’ve any queries in the meantime in which case we’ll scan to double check that we are good to go.

Billy Butcher and Troy story have moved from Worcestershire to Shropshire this morning ….

Both boys went up the gallop to do a light piece of work before being turned out for the day.

They went nicely and were pleased with them both.

They’re ready to step up now and start working …..

Troy has altered a lot since we bought him in February and definitely looks a much stronger horse now….

Hopefully with a slightly different way of life than he’s been used to we can inspire him to ‘try’….

Billy butcher has done well… after 2 years off the racecourse with an injury…. So far so good and we’ve not rushed him - for obvious reasons.
He’s still a big baby and remarkably under exposed for his age… fingers crossed he has a good season… he may be a little rusty at first but I think he’ll produce some nice efforts once he’s got his eye in.

Now under the watchful eye of David Roberts in Hughley.

Africa Charm is back from her swimming holiday…. She has tightened up nicely and looks fantastic.

Many thanks to Arden Equine Pool for doing such a brilliant job with her.

Shes a great looking mare with a sensible head and a very willing attitude.

She’ll start cantering tomorrow and will be gradually built up with the aim to be back running in October for Henry Oliver.

Pleased to report she returned home with a glowing report. 🌟
