It’s hard work to leave the house 🌧️, it’s hard work inside the studio 🥵, but you WILL feel a huge improvement in your body & mood on the way out 💙

Who loves this one⁉️ The way this makes your spine feel sooooo great 🫶 once you’ve got into the slightly mad start position 🤣

If you want 1️⃣ a hip opening 2️⃣ to mobilise your spine, 3️⃣ whilst challenging your shoulder strength & stability, then Semi-circle is the exercise for you 🫶🏼 [video sped up]

Not forgetting that lovely front of thigh stretch to finish off 😋

Surprise❗️Who knew that low impact, controlled movements while moving at a pace in accordance with your breath leaves you recovering for days after⁉️
If you’re used to fast, dynamic, ‘spicy’ classes, come & see what moving in a controlled manner whilst breathing correctly can do to your Pilates practice🙊

Pilates for all those deep, intrinsic, stabilising muscles - the deepest layer of core & spine muscles 💪

Wowwww - what a lush 2 weeks off teaching my regular classes - started with a few days of admin catch up & cleaning, then a week in Egypt 🐪, then my bestie’s wedding back home in Wales where I was so lucky to be Maid of Honour & had TWO outfit changes 😍🙌
Feeling well rested, overfed (& raspberry mojito’d) 😝 Ready for The Pilates Gym Sept/Oct 7 week courses to start tomorrow!
Can’t wait to see all the clients again - let’s all struggle with The Hundred together 🙌😂

Pilates in the real world 👏 We love hearing how Pilates makes your day to day life easier 👏
Diamond press - to extend your thoracic spine & better your posture, which is so important in a world of being flexed (or slumped!) forward so much 😫

Taking on The Pilates Gym is the best & scariest thing I have ever done🫶 Running the studio is SOOO much more than teaching classes - I have to do lists coming out of my ears (I am SURE I have missed some jobs off this post!) but I wouldn’t have it any other way 🙌
I know lots of other studio owners / self employed warriors out there can relate 😅
(It’s been on my list to make this post for well over 2 months 😂🙈)

This client has been coming consistently (between golf holidays!) for almost a year ⛳️ We love it when you notice your improvement in your own movements, but when someone else compliments it too…! 🤩👌

12 hours in less than 2 minutes 😮‍💨 I LOVE my Mondays sooo much - I get to hang out with amazing, interesting people & help them feel better through Pilates 🩵

But don’t get me wrong - teaching for 7 hours (split shift) is not sustainable all day, every day (in my opinion!). Monday is my busiest day teaching & it is SO hard to find time to eat well, & drink enough (but mixing that with not having time to p*e 😂)

The video doesn’t include replying to texts, emails etc in between teaching all the classes either - always a phone notification on the screen! 😅

My back feels stiff (I need to do some Pilates!!) & I’m surprised I have a voice left 😅 but I would not have it any other way - I get into bed feeling SOOOO happy. When I compare it to my 13yrs in an office job, I wouldn’t change it for the world 👌

In comparison, my Tuesday & Wednesday is much more focussed on running the business & doing some bits for myself, while just teaching in the evenings. Then back to teaching (split shift) Thursday, teaching Friday morning into early afternoon & then usually an afternoon of cleaning to kick off my weekend 😅

I get an awesome mix of admin/teaching during the week, a decent work/life balance & ultimately ADORE teaching more than anything else 🫶

PSA 📣 Tummy folds aren’t a flaw - they’re a sign your body is moving.

Skin HAS to crease when we bend, roll and stand up. If it didn’t, we’d have a much harder time moving!

☀️ With the warmer weather, wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable to Pilates class. Loose-fitting clothes, less clothes than usual – whatever helps you move & stay cooler.

& if you’re worried about what everyone else is thinking… they’re not! In Pilates, everyone is concentrating on their own body & their own breathing! They’re not looking at your body or what you’re wearing. If anything, from experience in the last heatwave, you’ll get compliments upon arrival on wearing your ‘not Pilates uniform’!

Come as you are, wear what feels right for you & as always, we’ll focus on moving well 🙌
