Great to speak with this years seminar instructor Matt Hill, founder and chief instructor of the Systema Academy Matt Hill Wiltshire, ahead of his upcoming seminar in Dublin later this September.

This off-the-cuff chat will offer some insight into what you can expect when you come to train with Matt at our upcoming seminar.

Matt has written several books on Systema. He runs regular seminars and camps, and teaches weekly classes 7 times a week, both in-person & online, with topics ranging from health to combat and everything in between.
When he's not doing all that, he also runs corporate stress management sessions, one-to-ones, family-friendly outdoor excursions, and for the big kids and adventure-seekers he offers his always hugely popular jungle expeditions, each one exploring somewhere different - this year they're off to the Amazon!

Huge congratulations to Ireland's newest, fully qualified Systema Instructor!🎉👊
He doesn't have a social media account yet, so we're sharing this introduction on his behalf!
(Includes seminar details for next weekend below)

Alexei Nicolenco is a Dublin-based Systema Instructor and founder of 'Rockinflow'.

With no previous experience in martial arts, he came to Systema after realising a deep-seated and very relatable human fear he held; that he didn't feel able to defend himself. Once acknowledged, he committed to changing that.
This uncensored self-reflection and sincere honesty echoes a fundamental principle that we continuously explore through Systema, i.e. the intimate knowing of our truest selves, our fears and habitual tensions; and it has shaped everything about how Alexei teaches.

He began his training under instructor Igor Jdanov, also based in Dublin, and has been practising for over fifteen years, receiving his full Instructor certification in February 2026. He has sought out training opportunities with some of the world's most prolific and experienced Systema practitioners, including most recently at Matt Hills Systema Academy in Wiltshire, UK, where he trained directly under Vladimir Vasiliev at the Legacy of Power seminar, and it is these lessons specifically that he will revisit in his upcoming seminar in Dublin, see details below.

At the heart of Alexei's practice, and of Rockinflow, is a simple but profound idea: that fear lives in the body masquerading as various tensions, and that by learning to move freely and breathe properly, we can dissolve both.
His study and interest sits at the intersection of movement, self defence, and personal development.

Outside of training, Alexei works as a Business Analyst in IT and balances this with hobbies like beekeeping and woodworking; crafts that, much like Systema, reward patience, presence and the quiet removal of all that's unnecessary.

Massage is a fundamental element of Systema training and it comes in a variety of forms.

We train to build ourselves and eachother up; to fortify the mind, temper the body and envigorate the soul.

It's been said that one of the key aspects of work with weapons is to see and understand the application of the weapon through 3 different lenses:
*as a deliberate weapon to defend against
*as the intended use of the object/ action (e.g. walking stick, knife, kick or strike etc)
*as a healing object/action

🌟The difference between each application and it's output then, lies in the intention behind it 🙏🌟

We are excited to be offering one-to-one Systema Massage during our next All-island seminar. If you've had one before, you'll know you're in for a treat 👊

We are now taking expressions of interest and there will be limited availability on the day. DM for more info and to book your session!

30min slots are available (for an additional fee) - it's a good opportunity to try it out Systema Massage if you've not had the chance before.

We are very much looking forward to our next annual all-island seminar, this year hosted in Wexford!
Our instructor for this year's seminar is Michal Okrajek of Systema Éire

With over two decades of experience across a range of martial arts and combat sports, Michal Okrajek’s journey began at the age of 14, studying styles such as Kyokushin Karate, Bujinkan Taijutsu, later on Muay Thai, and Judo, each one offering unique perspective of combat and the human body.

In 2015, he was introduced to , the ancient Russian Martial Art also known as 'Know Thyself'.
This discovery shifted his perception of martial arts and hand-to-hand combat. Unlike anything he had encountered before, Systema offered a holistic, intuitive approach that bridged the gap between physical technique, internal control, and psychological clarity.

In 2016, he travelled to Moscow to complete his instructor certification under Master Mikhail Ryabko at Systema HQ. Since then, he has continued training with some of the most respected teachers, including Vladimir Vasiliev, Daniil Ryabko, Vladimir Zaykowsky, Lev Ivanov, and Martin Wheeler, participating in international seminars and further deepening his understanding of the system.

Michal’s teaching focuses heavily on and , how our body and mind interact under stress, and how these principles apply not only in high-pressure scenarios, but in everyday life. For Michal, martial arts is not just about self-defense, it’s a path to , , and living with purpose.
