What a fantastic way to wrap up the Black Tees competition yesterday

A huge congratulations to Macreddin Golf member Martyn Veitch, who took home the Black Tees Grand Final trophy and first prize with a fantastic score of 39 points

A massive thank you to all 109 finalists who made it through the three qualifiers and helped make this competition such a success. It’s been brilliant to see the support, competition and camaraderie throughout.

A special thank you to Stephen Hannon and the Greenkeeping Team for having the course in such fantastic shape for the final — the course has never looked better

We also want to recognise Siobhàn, Sam, Tara, Patrick and Ciara for all their hard work and commitment throughout the season. Your efforts behind the scenes were a huge part of making the competition run so smoothly

And finally, a massive thank you to John and Jacob from Grannies Kitchen Catering for keeping everyone fuelled after their rounds with their incredible curries! 🍛👏

Captain’s Prize 2026

What a fantastic day yesterday for our Captain’s Prize at Macreddin Golf Club!

Captain Kealan Symes got a brilliant day for it, with sunshine, great golf and plenty of competition right to the very end.

Congratulations to our winner, Ian McDonald, who took the title by just one shot from Colm Byrne in a thrilling finish.

And there was even more to celebrate with John Devitt recording a fantastic hole-in-one on the 4th!

The golf was followed by a great barbecue, plenty of good food, wine flowing and lots of stories from the day — the perfect way to round off a memorable Captain’s Prize.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day happen, and of course to all our members who came out and made it such a special occasion.

Congratulations Ian, and well done to everyone who took part!

Well that’s a wrap for the 2026 qualifiers and we now move on to the grand final on Aug 23rd

Our Open Week has seen record numbers take to the fairways, with fantastic competition throughout and the course presented in superb condition.
