At Green Island, we're incredibly fortunate to have strong wahine throughout our club, and Lauren is one of those people.

She's stuck with us even when the odds were against us, fighting tirelessly to keep our WPSL programme running to a high standard and ensuring it remains a space where everyone is celebrated.

Lauren is the driving force behind many milestone celebrations, and today it's our turn to honour her after all the love and dedication she has shown not only to her teammates, but to the wider women's programme at GIAFC.

Whether it's being a listening ear, organising fun events for her team (she can't help being a teacher), or showing up in the clubrooms week after week, Lauren embodies the Green Island spirit. Her loyalty, commitment, and willingness to go in to bat for her teammates are second to none. She leads from the front and sets the standard for those around her.

Pen, what a privilege it has been to watch you reach 100 Premier Games. We are so proud of you and incredibly grateful for everything you do for our club.

A huge congratulations to Fern and Terry on their selections for the Māori Football Aotearoa Pounamu squad!

Fern will proudly represent her whānau (Ngāti Toa Rangatira, Ngāti Raukawa, and Ngāti Mutunga), as well as Green Island AFC. An exciting young talent in our WSPL squad, Fern continues to embody the core values of our club both on and off the field. Having progressed through our junior ranks, her dedication, hard work, and commitment have been outstanding, and we couldn't be prouder of this young wahine.

Terry has been selected as Assistant Coach for the squad. His leadership, passion, and energy have brought a new dimension to our Premier Mens programme this season, and we are thrilled to see him show his talents on the international stage and represent Aotearoa.
