They defeated Gavin Denston and Jarrod Williden 2/1.

Well done to both pairs.

Bulky old Wednesday in terms of numbers with 40+ in the field for hidden partners combined stableford.
Neville Swan and Keith Ellwood took out the honours while Rueben Theodore featured consistently throughout the results as seen below.

Massive thanks to Colin and Karl, Mike Bell and Dave Mc for getting the results sorted after a bit of a shmozzle sorting cards once everyone handed them in.

A moment in time captured

When you accidently take a photo of a volunteer in his element.

Meet Gordon Greer - chief rough cutter, knapsack sprayer, hedge trimmer, and tree waterer and all round good guy!

Many of you know Gordy pretty well but for those who don't, he is one of our legends within the club for the countless hours he puts in weekly particularly saving myself up to 9 hours of grass cutting a week.

He came on board after retiring from Invermay Ag Research over 10 years ago to focus on keeping on top of our rough.

His aquistion has been a key part of lifting our turf quality across the whole course over time.

Gordy you are legend mate and we all appreciate your great work.

Here he is pictured showing off his work on the hedge at number 1 tee.

What's on at the Park?

Wowsers who felt that heat on Sunday? Did someone say Winter?

It definitely brought the golfers out over the long weekend. Was great to see a field of 60+ with visitors from 12 Oaks and Kaitangata on Saturday.

This week's forecast looks a bit hit and miss but fine tomorrow for the Rambling Rovers who are playing a combined stableford with hidden partners. Assumingly these aren't revealed until the end of the round.

Report time 9.45 - visitors welcome. Great to see 40+ players becoming the norm for the Wednesday competition.

Saturday sees round 2 of the 4bbb knockout for the men, while the women are playing a stableford.

Sunday the course is open to the public.

As always visitors more than welcome on our club days, always plenty of room.

If you're wanting to join up as a member, our full membership current pro rata rate is currently $336 for the rest of the year.
See the office for details.

Timely reminder about wear and tear on the course now winter has arrived.

Please keep trundlers off tees at all times.
Amazing when we see them being pulled around the permanent chains that are designed for this reason and parked on the tees.

Results from yesterday's "9 hole eclectic"

A brief explanation of how this was played. Best score across our 9 holes played twice of course, less half the handicap.

The legendary Sue Adam came out on top with a net 31 ahead of the field of 13.

Sheryl Fuller again featured in the incentive prizes with the shot of the day on 2/11 while Steph Freeman claimed the Pit Stop Cafe Longest putt.

Well what a ride it was with the Challenge trophy.

Last defence was a valiant effort against Taieri, clinging on by the barest of margins via a playoff.

Today we faced the same scenario against Twelve Oaks GC with Allan Smith going down to a birdie on the 19th against Danny Loli.

Congratulations Twelve Oaks on your victory and we hope you have a good stint defending it.

Pictured here is Twelve Oaks captain Danny Loli(left) receiving the trophy from Island Park captain Cam McPhee (middle) with Club Captain Stephen McCormick in the Wahs top.

What's on at the Park?

Well what a run of weather we are having at the moment with this long fine spell. Long may it continue, the long range outlook looks great.

There's a bit of mess still around the pine row between 1/9 but the guys are chipping away at it nicely which is much appreciated.. You legends know who you are.

Wednesday
The Rambling Rovers face the enigmatic Bisque Par, by now the rules of the infamous Bisque should be clear for everyone barring those choppers on + 2s where the lines look blurred as to how many shots can be taken on one hole for deep -.
Tee off at 10am. Report time by 9.45am.

Saturday sees round 2 of the 4BBB knockout as well as a visit from our friends from Twelve Oaks G.C who are looking to wrestle the Challenge Trophy away from us. These matches will be off tee 15.

The women have their eclectic.

As always visitors are more than welcome to join our club days. There's always plenty of room.

Please note we have a black and white rule around course openings on Saturdays being 4pm... No earlier especially with some matches needing more than 18holes to decide the beersies.
