I usually walk it out in these shallow waters... but this Kairakau mud is DEEP today team 🤦‍♂️ So it’s kayak mode activated.

*Quick NZ Kahawai net rules to know:*
1. *Permit required* - You need a recreational set net permit from MPI
2. *Net length* - Max 60m long for kahawai
3. *Marked* - Must have a float with your name + address/phone
4. *Supervised* - You have to stay within 50m and check it every 2 hours
5. *Species rules* - Only target kahawai. Everything else gets released
