Some ideas stand the test of time. The Pearl TL4 was one of them.

Its separate front and back outputs made it possible to change the microphone’s polar pattern in post-production, a remarkably forward-thinking feature at the time.

40 years later, much has changed. But the DNA that connects Pearl to Milab is still visible in the way we approach microphones today.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of our friend Steve Remote.

Besides being one of the nicest and funniest people you could ever meet, Steve was a legendary New York sound engineer and multiple Grammy Award winner. He was also an early Milab adopter and a true fan.

Steve once told us that he used to cover the Milab logos on his DC-196/96 microphones with black tape so that no one would know what they were. He wanted to keep them as his “secret weapons.”

We will miss him dearly.
