A typical training session usually consists of warm up which includes skipping and shadow boxing, te It’s a very laid back atmosphere.

Like most gyms, there are two training sessions per day at Sh**un Fight Gym The Evening session starts at 6pm and the night session starts at 7.30pm. The sessions usually consist of some skipping and a brief warm up with some shadowboxing, followed by some technique instruction. Students will then do 3-4 rounds of pad work with the Coach or one of the trainers employed by the gym

Buki-dori is a Japanese martial arts term that means “weapon taking” or disarming techniques. It refers to methods used to defend against an attacker holding a weapon and safely control or remove the weapon from them. These techniques focus on timing, distance, control of the attacker’s body, and quick disarm movements rather than relying on strength.

Buki-dori is traditionally practiced in martial arts such as Aikido, Ju Jitsu, and Judo, where students learn to handle threats involving weapons like knives, sticks, or swords. The goal is to neutralize the threat while minimizing harm and gaining control of the situation.

In modern training, Buki-dori is often adapted for practical self-defense scenarios involving common weapons. 🥋
