We've done a lot of celebrating this season. Today, the Forestbrooke community can breathe a sigh of relief.
Neighbors spotted a small fire, and the Ann Arbor Fire Department responded immediately. We are now able to open as usual while we await an insurance inspection.
In addition to our valued neighbors, we extend thanks - once again - to our members who volunteer their talents for our nonprofit pool. As our massive rebuild wrapped up, one of them fireproofed this shed! We can't think of a better example to show how Charles Hardin's work paid off.

Another really good fund-raising week is getting us so much closer! Our contractor deferred our final payment until July, so we're able to put the loan on ice unless we absolutely need it.

In honor of the start of swim practice this week: Championship results from summer 1978, including all-league first place Forestbrooke finishers AND new league records! Quite a proud tradition from the old 20-yard pool and the old diving board 😁

Forestbrooke is a place of miracles! Our inspections were nailbiters until the last minute. However, as of a short time ago, WE ARE OPEN in our BRAND NEW POOL!

TONIGHT FRIDAY 5/22/26 5-6 pm Volunteer Swim

SATURDAY 5/23/2026- Membership and Registration begins at 10:30, Parade at 11 and Pool Opens at Noon. Swimming is open to the public today as well.
We will have donuts and coffee and a bike decorating area. We will have the first of many ribbon cutting ceremonies as well.

SUNDAY 5/24/26- Pool Opens at Noon, Swimming is open to the public today as well.

MONDAY 5/25/2026- Pool Opens at Noon, Members?Paid Guests only swimming starts today. The BBQ begins at 5:00pm. Please see the sign up genius here. There are so many spots open. We also need some Grill Masters!

Lastly this miraculous opening could not have happened without members volunteering their time. So a BIG thank you to everyone who showed up!

Lucy Ann Lance is a terrific interviewer and a much-valued alum of Forestbrooke who grew up on Yost. Not only did she give us a donation in memory of her parents, Frank and Honey, on Wednesday. She also helped spread the word of what our new pool means to this community by inviting Gloria K. Jones and Britain Woodman onto her WLBY radio show. (There's a great shout-out to our invaluable Ron Conn, too!)
