ATTENTION: the entrance to the barn parking lot will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday 9/23 and 9/24). We are installing a new entrance gate.

Please plan accordingly as any vehicles coming to or from the barn will need to route using the driveway from the house. The parking lot itself will still be available.

Thank you!

It’s especially rewarding to see versatile horses and riders confidently step into so many different divisions.

As we wrap up our show season, we’re especially grateful for all the memories, milestones and lessons this year has brought. We’re already looking forward to some well-deserved time to rest, regroup and prepare for next year and the 2027 show season ahead.

And none of these long weekends happen with only the people holding the ribbons. A huge THANK YOU to all of our family who came along, pitched in, held horses, hauled things, kept everyone fed, helped behind the scenes, and supported this crazy horse-show life. We appreciate you more than you know!

Thank You to everyone that stays home and keeps the farm running smoothly when our show team is on the road.

Thank you to our sponsors for your support. Blanco Custom Saddlery for the AMAZING western tack including our gorgeous custom western show sidesaddle. Islands Marine Center and CG Welding & Custom Fabrication for keeping us on the road and in working order. Vince Brown for the great show ring photos, you are the best horse shows paparazzi (and horse-show husband/dad).

Thank you to all the people that put time into organizing, judging, promoting and running these shows.

I’m very proud of this little Hidden Creek team. I’m excited for next year with some new horse & riders joining the team. 🩷💙🖤

Unfortunately with the smoke today the air quality is looking really bad. I’m canceling all lessons today/closed for haul ins. I hate to do it but it’s not worth risking anyone’s lungs (human or horse).

A reminder that horses are far more sensitive to smoke with their large lungs. The risk of smoke related health problems is just not worth that extra ride.

Management and Protection Guidelines

Halt exercise: Avoid riding or heavy work when the Air Quality Index (AQI) rises above 100, and completely cancel turnout play or forced exercise if the AQI exceeds 150.

Reduce dust: Minimize extra dust in the environment by wetting down stalls or arenas and soaking dry hay.

Provide clean water: Refresh outdoor water troughs frequently so ash and surface film do not deter drinking.

Post-smoke recovery: Give horses a resting recovery period of at least 1-2 days for each day spent in smoke, after clean air returns before slowly reintroducing light work, keeping in mind that damaged lung tissue can take 4 to 6 weeks to fully heal.
