As a pelvic floor PT, here are 3 things I want you to stop doing when you p*e:

1. Pushing or straining to p*e. Your bladder should empty without you having to force it.

2. Hovering over the toilet. Sitting comfortably allows your pelvic floor muscles to relax more easily.

3. Peeing “just in case.” Going too frequently when you don’t have the urge may reinforce bladder urgency and frequency for some people.

Your bladder and pelvic floor work together! Small changes in your bathroom habits can make a difference. đź’—

And if you’re dealing with leaking, urgency, pelvic pressure, or difficulty emptying your bladder, you don’t have to just live with it.

🎀 What does breast cancer have to do with your va**na? More than you might think!

We talk a lot about surviving breast cancer, but not nearly enough about the changes that can happen to a woman’s pelvic health during and after treatment.

Hormonal changes from chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, or menopause can contribute to Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM), which may include:

🌸 Vaginal dryness and irritation

🌸 Painful in*******se

🌸 Burning or discomfort with urination

🌸 Urinary urgency and recurrent UTIs

🌸 Changes in va**nal tissue elasticity and comfort

And here’s what I really want breast cancer survivors to know…

Just because you’ve survived cancer doesn’t mean you have to settle for surviving these symptoms, too. 💕

Pelvic floor physical therapy can help address muscle tension, painful in*******se, and bladder symptoms. There are also nonhormonal treatment options, and in some cases additional treatments that can be discussed with your oncology team.

Your sexual health, comfort, and quality of life MATTER.

Let’s normalize talking about the things that don’t always get discussed during cancer treatment. 🎀

🚨 5 Signs Your Pelvic Floor Might Be TOO TIGHT!

🦷 Jaw clenching or TMJ? You might be holding tension in your pelvic floor, too!

đź©° Feet always turned out? Limited hip mobility may be connected to pelvic floor tension.

🪑 Can’t sit comfortably? Tailbone pain, hip discomfort, or constantly shifting positions can be clues.

🧠 Always stressed? Your pelvic floor responds to stress just like your neck and shoulders!

đź’Ş Constantly gripping your abs or glutes? Your pelvic floor might have trouble fully relaxing.

✨ Remember: A tight pelvic floor isn’t necessarily a strong pelvic floor!

These are clues, not a diagnosis. Your pelvic floor needs to know how to contract AND relax.

Five moves. One dream. And a whole lot of faith. 🤍

I’m trying my best to slow down and really soak this all in.

This is my 5th move since beginning my entrepreneurial journey, and somehow, this one feels different.

When I first started Integrative Spine & Pelvic Health, I had a vision of creating something more than just a physical therapy clinic. I dreamed of a space where women felt heard, supported, empowered, and cared for in every season of life.

A space that felt like a sanctuary. A place for healing, connection, education, and community.

And now, after years of dreaming, planning, taking risks, making sacrifices, and overcoming more obstacles than I can count… that space is finally becoming a reality.

And let me tell you, the road here has been anything but easy.

There have been moments of doubt, sleepless nights, financial risks, unexpected setbacks, and plenty of times I’ve questioned whether I was taking on too much.

But I kept coming back to the same vision.

What makes this even more special is that we now have four other women’s health businesses sharing this space with us. What started as my little dream has grown into a community of women supporting women, and that might be the part that makes me most emotional.

I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built, but even more grateful for the people who helped us get here. My team, my family, my patients, and everyone who has believed in this mission along the way.

I don’t want to rush past this moment just because there’s still so much left to do.

Because sometimes we’re so busy chasing the next goal that we forget to look around and realize we’re standing in the middle of something we once prayed for.

Here’s to the fifth move, the next chapter, and a dream that turned into something bigger than I ever imagined.

We built more than a clinic. We built a place for women to thrive. 🤍
