🧘♀️ STRETCHING ISN’T JUST ABOUT FLEXIBILITY — IT’S ABOUT HOW YOU MOVE AND FEEL.
Have you ever stood up after sitting awhile and thought, “Wow…everything feels tight”?
As we age, spend more time sitting, repeat the same movements, or simply go through the stresses of everyday life, our bodies can begin to feel stiff and restricted.
That’s where regular stretching — both on your own and through practitioner-assisted stretching — can make a difference.
Stretching can help:
✅ Reduce feelings of muscle tension and stiffness
✅ Improve flexibility and joint range of motion
✅ Make everyday movements like bending, reaching, walking and getting out of a chair feel easier
✅ Improve body awareness and posture
✅ Support better movement during exercise
✅ Promote relaxation and help your body let go of some of the physical tension that comes with stress
And assisted stretching offers something that's sometimes difficult to accomplish on our own: the ability to relax while someone else safely guides the movement.
When you aren't trying to hold yourself in position or force a stretch, you may be able to relax more fully and gradually improve your tolerance for movement.
💛 Think of stretching as releasing what is holding you back and bringing forward what helps you move well.
Release:
• Tightness
• Stiffness
• Tension
• Guarded movement
Bring forward:
• Mobility
• Flexibility
• Relaxation
• Confidence in your movement
• Greater freedom to do the things you enjoy
You don't have to be an athlete to benefit from stretching. You just need a body you want to keep moving.
At Stretch Zone, we can help you with practitioner-assisted stretching.
And through Strength Through Stewardship, Daryl and I can help you build stretching, mobility, strength and other healthy habits into your everyday life.
Take care of the body you've been given — so it can continue carrying you where God is calling you to go. 💛
