"My desire in joining Starting Strength was to enable me to have stamina and strength for grand kids and to address the issue of osteopenia.
I didn’t expect to enjoy it! I have found the process interesting and very beneficial. John’s coaching is carefully designed for each individual and I have been able to make steady progress toward my goals, under his guidance.
Highly recommend Starting Strength for any age!"

Age is just a number. Strength is a choice. ✨
Meet our incredible duo, Sally and Sheila who just celebrated their 1-Year Gym Anniversary with us! At 79 and 80 years young, these ladies are proving that you're never too old to get under the bar.
Over the last 12 months, they haven't just "maintained" - they've built REAL, functional strength that carries over into everything they do outside these walls

Strong people don't rise alone. They rise with their people. Shout out to the noon lifters who showed up, loaded the bars, and absolutely crushed every rep today.
Lunch break, heavy plates. 🍽️🏋️

"Let's just clear it up right here: barbell training is the best way to train for strength. Bar none. Nothing even comes close to the effectiveness of barbell squats, presses, deadlifts, and the Olympic lifts for the development of strength, power, and muscular size.
The reason barbells are so very valuable is that they are the most ergonomically-friendly load-handling tool in existence -they allow very heavy weights to be gripped in the hands and moved directly over the center of the foot.
Their extremely adjustable nature allows small increases in stress to be applied to the whole body over the full range of motion of all your major leveraging systems; these small increases accumulate into amazing gains in size and strength for many uninterrupted years of progress." - Mark Rippetoe

One year ago, Ormal started his journey at Starting Strength Boise. Most people celebrate their 90's by slowing down, Ormal celebrated by stepping under a barbell.
The 1-Year Gains:
⚡Press: From 11 lbs ➡️ 34 lbs
⚡Bench: From 16 lbs ➡️ 48 lbs
⚡Rack Pull: 22 lbs ➡️ 95 lbs
🔥 The result: Independence, balance, and the kind of grit you can't buy in a pharmacy.
92 Years Old. 365 Days of Iron. 0 Excuses. 📈
🏋️ Strength is for everyone. Whether you are 22 or 92, the process is the same. We prioritize form, incremental loading, and safety above all else.
