INSANE RESULTS….🤯

EVERY LifeSport athlete was on the podium at the Portland Triathlon last weekend 🏆

We saw AG wins from Hannah Reid & Kalyan Chitrada😤

🫣Coach Juliet took 1st female overall with only 4 men beating her!!

🥈Also landing on the podium were David Soyster (2nd AG), Debbie Driscoll (2nd AG), Michelle Hebert (2nd Overall Sprint Duathlon), and Carly Rose Schmidt (2nd Overall Olympic Aquabike).

Triathlon is about the journey - but great results are a sweet, sweet reward! 🍬🥇

Reminder: don’t race your long ride today 🚨

The majority of your long rides should be spent in Zone 2 — an effort that feels controlled, sustainable, and repeatable.

This is where you build aerobic fitness, improve endurance, develop fat oxidation, and practice the fueling habits that matter on race day.

🤨💭Not sure if you’re training in the right zones or getting the most out of your workouts? Working with a coach can help ensure every session has a purpose and fits into a bigger plan.

From Spain to Florida to Vancouver Island, LifeSport athletes were out there putting in WORK this weekend 👊🏻🌍

🇪🇸 At Challenge Salou, Young Gun Maia Watson finished 9th in the Pro field AND set PRs in all THREE legs 🤯⚡️

🇺🇸 At 70.3 Gulf Coast, the day delivered wet roads, soggy conditions, and a shortened 1K swim — but our crew showed up ready to grind:
Caroline Kratz returned to 70.3 racing after more than a decade and threw down a 🌟5:34 despite cramping on the run and walking the back half.
🌟Matt Trussell took AN HOUR off his previous 70.3 time
🌟 Dan Higgins put together a strong, steady race and showed huge improvement. Smooth, composed, and resilient through a lot going on outside of racing

🇨🇦 Back on the East Coast, Marion Cornish absolutely crushed her first marathon in Fredericton

And closer to home, the LifeSport crew raced the Westwood Triathlon on Vancouver Island 🌲 Shoutout to Barbara Polehoykie, Patrick Silva, Patrick Graham, Bibi Benekou, Carla Anne Valentine, Glenn Van As, and Coach Lance Watson for a great day of racing 🔥

Proud of everyone who toed the line this weekend. The work always shows up eventually 💙

Tiny race-day details matter more than people think.

Neither option is “right” — the goal is finding the setup that feels comfortable + automatic when the nerves are high and everything’s moving fast.

👀 Bonus tip: some athletes put their goggles BETWEEN a double cap setup for extra security in rough or crowded swim starts.

At LifeSport, we help athletes dial in both the big training pieces and the small race-day details that make the day smoother.

Joni Drake ran 2:32 at the Sisters Trail Half Marathon (Oregon) ⛰️
