Quick MADSoleful-style cod recipe 🐟

Garlic Lemon Herb Cod

Ingredients:

* Cod fillet
* Olive oil
* Garlic (minced)
* Lemon juice + zest
* Salt, pepper
* Fresh or dried herbs (parsley, dill, or thyme)

Steps:

1. Preheat oven to 400°F
2. Place cod on baking tray
3. Drizzle olive oil + lemon juice
4. Add garlic, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, herbs( parsley is my fave), capers, cut tomatoes, red onion, shallot
5. Bake ~20-35 min until flaky
6. Finish with fresh lemon squeeze

Serve with roasted veggies, rice, or a big salad for a balanced plate. I will sometimes use spaghetti squash and add a little Parmesan cheese as well 👩🏾‍🍳 💋!!

Codfish is high in protein, low in calories, easy to digest and rich in key nutrients like vitamin B12, iodine, and selenium.

If you don’t like cod you can use this recipe for really any type of fish 🐟.

The purpose behind this challenge was to encourage movement during the coldest, and darkest months of the year. It was also to develop an awareness and mindfulness around movement.

105 people signed up for the challenge.
34 people finished the challenge.
18 people hit 1 million steps 😍.

✨ ALMOST Halfway through the Stepping Into a Million challenge! ✨
Okay bestie, real talk… now that it’s getting colder and darker earlier, getting your steps in later in the day is only going to get harder. And this is where your future self is begging you to make one small shift:

Get your steps in earlier.
Like… earlier-earlier.

Here’s why this is a game changer, especially this time of year:

👣 1. Your energy is ALWAYS better in the morning.
Before the emails, the stress, the kids, the darkness… you’re fresher. You move differently. And that first win of the day? It literally sets the tone.

🌥️ 2. The weather only gets colder as the day goes on.
If you hate that late afternoon chill (same), knocking out a chunk of your steps before noon makes the rest feel so much easier.

🧠 3. You’ll stop “bargaining” with yourself at 6pm.
You know that conversation: “I’ll go after dinner”… then your couch whispers your name. Getting ahead of it removes the mental gymnastics.

💛 4. It becomes your built in self care.
Morning walks hit different. The quiet. The breathing space. The you time before the world starts pulling at you.

✨ So challenge for this next half:
Start your day with 1,000–2,000 steps.
Before the chaos. Before the cold. Before you talk yourself out of it.
Let it be simple, not perfect.

We’re halfway through, but you still have so much momentum left in you.

Recap of day 1✨

We are learning how to move through discomfort.

Noticing patterns and figuring out where we might need to make some lifestyle adjustments.

Being honest and owning the work we did for the day. Reflecting on how we can do better and celebrating where we crushed it.

It might take a few weeks to build up to 11,111 steps daily. This might be your first time really paying attention to how much movement you get through the day.

Keep going!

It’s a 90 day challenge! Don’t quit before you’ve even started.
