🎉🎉
Huge shoutout tonight to one of our own Rylan who’s been working with us for almost 2 years. This evening “Hard Work Paid Off” he received his blue belt in Juijitsu right before his 18th Birthday on Thursday.
I remember when Rylan started training 6 years ago in the kids class at Gracie Burlington. He stayed to himself, didn’t really speak to any of the other kids. I watch my son Giovanni go up to him before class and start conversations with him. They became friends.
Little would know how that act of kindness from Giovanni would lead to Rylan coming to working with us.
One day 2 years ago I get a message from his mom (grand mom) asking if I would give Rylan a job nothing crazy just something so he could learn what it meant to have a job and responsibilities. So we made him a bus boy and he’s done one hell of a job. Given him instructions and he follows them to a T. Rylan has had some challenges in life to over come and he continues to work on them daily and we’ve seen a huge change in him I’ve r the last 2 years.
It’s crazy to me how much he has grown on myself and the other staff member over these last two years. However what’s crazier is how much he has grown on our regular customers. When they haven’t seen him in a while I get asked “hey is Rylan ok? Why hasn’t he been at work.” Each time I let them “he’s good just has a request for tonight off”. They instantly respond “ok we just want to make sure he’s good.”
So if the Sal’s Family could do me a huge favor. When you see Rylan after his birthday on Thursday tell him the following:
1. Happy Birthday
2. Congratulation on receiving your Blue Belt.
It will mean the world to him knowing everyone is proud of him.
