Have you noticed, somewhere along the way, the job postings became a wish list?
9 required qualifications, 6 Preferred and 22 responsibilities. All under a single title, and a single salary.
When a listing merges two roles into one, the consolidation rarely comes with two paychecks. The person in that seat inherits a workload built for a team and very little say over how any of it is structured.

That may be why, in the TES Generational Career Confidence Survey, 80% of employees said business ownership gives a person more control over their career than a traditional job. Among Millennials, it was 86%.
Most people respond to an overwhelming job description by asking, "Am I qualified enough?"

What is happening to Job Titles?

As your coach, I work differently. I am not trying to win your approval or keep you talking. Instead, I ask the questions you wouldn’t think to ask, name the blind spots you can’t see, and challenge the assumptions you’d never question on your own.
The goal isn’t to steer you toward business ownership — it’s to help you figure out what’s actually next: another job, a new leadership path, or something you build and own.
