Have you noticed, somewhere along the way, the job postings became a wish list?

9 required qualifications, 6 Preferred and 22 responsibilities. All under a single title, and a single salary.

When a listing merges two roles into one, the consolidation rarely comes with two paychecks. The person in that seat inherits a workload built for a team and very little say over how any of it is structured.

That may be why, in the TES Generational Career Confidence Survey, 80% of employees said business ownership gives a person more control over their career than a traditional job. Among Millennials, it was 86%.

Most people respond to an overwhelming job description by asking, "Am I qualified enough?"

There’s a better first question: "Is this actually the model I want?"

That’s where I can help. Not with listings or resume, but with what you want your Income and Lifestyle to look like, and whether your current path can realistically get you there.

For a lot of moms, finding a job that actually fits family life has gotten harder — not easier.

Coming out of the pandemic, flexible and remote roles opened real doors for mothers of young children. Now those doors are closing. In early 2026, just 4% of new job postings were fully remote — while 77% were fully on-site. (Robert Half Recruiting) As return-to-office mandates spread, the pool of jobs that can work around childcare and school schedules keeps shrinking.

The pattern shows up in the numbers: labor force participation among college-educated moms of young children has been sliding, even as it climbs for people without kids at home. When the workday and calendar don't line up with the school day, something has to give — and too often, it's the mom's career.

In a shrinking job market for moms of young children, Career Ownership Coaching™ helps people explore whether building work around their life — instead of squeezing life around a job — could be a real path forward.

What is happening to Job Titles?

Business schools from Harvard to Wharton are already describing the end of the fixed job title, as work reorganizes around skills, not labels.

Here's the harder truth: adaptability is now simply expected. So the real question isn't which role you take next — it's whose structure you're working within.

If the ground is shifting anyway, wouldn't you rather be the one shaping it? Read more: https://kschroeder.esourcecoach.com/blog/?utm_source=SOCI_Parameter

There’s another option: The TES Generational Career Confidence Survey reveals about where real career security lives: 61% say business ownership is the best hedge against AI.

Is building a multigenerational legacy important to you?

A layoff notice. A restructuring. An economy that shifts overnight. For a lot of parents, the question isn't only “How do I protect my career?” — it's “How do I protect my family's future?”

Building a business isn't only about income today. It's about creating something with staying power. A foundation that can generate income now, build wealth and equity over time, and one day give the next generation a stronger place to start. Something that funds your life today and that outlasts any single job.

In the TES Generational Career Confidence Survey, 83% of parents said supporting a child's business is a good long-term investment, and 75% said they value an entrepreneurial mindset for their kids.

In an uncertain labor market, the most valuable thing you build may be something you can pass down. Take our Workplace Wellness Assessment and determine if you need to build a better future. https://kschroeder.esourcecoach.com/?utm_source=SOCI_Assessment

Are you asking AI for advice?

Here’s the catch most people miss. Chatbots are trained to keep you engaged, and the easiest way to do that is to agree with you. A study published in Science this year found that across 11 leading AI models, they sided with users about 49% more often than actual people did.

For looking up a fact, that’s fine. For a decision that reshapes your life? An advisor who always agrees with you isn’t an advisor. It’s a mirror that learned to smile back.

As your coach, I work differently. I am not trying to win your approval or keep you talking. Instead, I ask the questions you wouldn’t think to ask, name the blind spots you can’t see, and challenge the assumptions you’d never question on your own.

The goal isn’t to steer you toward business ownership — it’s to help you figure out what’s actually next: another job, a new leadership path, or something you build and own.

The biggest myth about starting a business is that it begins with a leap — the dramatic quit, the burned bridge, the all-or-nothing bet.

For most people, that’s not how it actually happens. You want a plan that fits real life: A runway, a safety net, and an honest timeline. In the TES Generational Career Confidence Survey, 83% of people said business ownership is a viable alternative to a traditional career.

How do you de-risk the leap? Make the decision on evidence instead of hope.

That’s the work I do with you. Not “quit tomorrow,” but: what does a staged transition look like for your situation? When does the math actually say go? You just need a plan that lets you build your confidence and goals on a timeline you can live with.

Let’s plan what’s next for you!

The pressure landing on Gen X right now: Embrace AI or get quietly pushed aside?

Here’s the catch — you’re at your peak earning years, often the most senior (and most expensive) person in the room, and layoffs tend to find those people first. But you can’t just retire your way out of it. There’s too much runway ahead, and too many people counting on you.

In the TES Generational Career Confidence Survey, 85% of Gen X said business ownership is a viable alternative to a traditional career. Nearly half of workers said ageism is keeping them in a job that no longer fits.

“Adapt or get left behind” still leaves you reacting to someone else’s plan. So maybe the real question isn’t adapt or exit. It’s: on whose terms?

I can help you figure out what’s the best next for you!

Prediction markets like Polymarket are booming but do you know who actually wins?

A 2026 analysis by the Washington Post, from finance researcher Pat Akey, found that a tiny group of users, around 0.05%, walked away with most of the profits. Why so lopsided? Because you’re betting on outcomes you can’t control.

There’s a fundamentally different kind of bet: betting on yourself. But betting on yourself without guidance is still a gamble. I can provide a clear discovery process that helps you uncover whether ownership truly fits your goals.
