That's the question I ask myself every time the hubs and I make sourdough. We don't eat much bread, but when we do, it's usually because we made it ourselves. Not because bread is "bad." Not because carbs are the enemy. Not because we're trying to earn it.

Because making it changes the relationship. It takes planning. It takes patience. It takes effort. And something funny happens when you can't have it instantly...

You appreciate it more. You become connected to the process instead of just consuming the product. In a world where we can have almost anything delivered to our doorstep within hours, we've lost some of the gratitude that comes from creating, waiting, and anticipating.

That's why I love making sourdough. Not just for the ingredients. Not just for the taste. But because it reminds me that good things often take time. And honestly? That lesson applies to so much more than bread.

Your health. Your strength. Your energy. Your confidence.
Most of us want results immediately. But the things that last are usually built slowly, fold by fold, day by day—just like a loaf of sourdough.

For us, carbs aren't something we fear. We enjoy fruits, vegetables, rice, pasta, and yes...occasionally a thick slice of homemade sourdough drizzled with honey or EVOO. The difference is we're intentional about it.

Maybe that's what's missing for so many people—not more restriction, but more connection.

Tell me... what's something you've made from scratch that made you appreciate it more? 👇

☀️ SUMMER IS BUSY... but your nutrition doesn't have to be!

Running from the pool 🏊‍♀️ to baseball games ⚾, summer camps 🎨, vacations 🚗, and everything in between? This is your reminder that a smoothie can be your secret weapon.

When life gets hectic, smoothies are one of the easiest ways to pack in nutrition without spending hours in the kitchen. They're quick, portable, refreshing, and perfect for busy moms who need something nourishing NOW—not after they've finished taking care of everyone else.

My favorite smoothie formula:

✅ Protein Powder
✅ Greek Yogurt
✅ Fruit
✅ Veggies
✅ Liquid of Choice (milk, almond milk, water, etc.)

🍓 Fruits to add:
• Strawberries
• Blueberries
• Raspberries
• Bananas
• Mango
• Pineapple
• Peaches
• Cherries

🥬 Veggies to sneak in:
• Spinach
• Kale
• Cauliflower
• Zucchini
• Cucumber
• Carrots
• Frozen riced cauliflower (you won't even taste it!)

🥣 Bonus add-ins:
• Greek yogurt
• Chia seeds
• Flax seeds
• Oats
• Nut butter

The best part? You can prep smoothie packs ahead of time and toss everything into the blender when you're racing out the door.

Because let's be honest... summer schedules may be unpredictable, but fueling your body shouldn't be.

Save this post for your next grocery trip and tell me👇

What's your favorite smoothie ingredient?

1️⃣ “Just wake up earlier.”Ma’am…some women are already running on fumes while taking care of kids, aging parents, work, homes, pets, and everyone else’s needs.

2️⃣ “You have to be ALL IN.”No you don’t.You need consistency more than intensity.Healthy habits should fit INTO your life…not consume it.

3️⃣ “If you wanted it bad enough, you’d make time.”This one? Immediate ICK.Women in this season of life are carrying mental loads most people never even see.

You do NOT need more guilt. You need support. You need realistic strategies. You need someone who understands that your life is already full.

That’s exactly why I coach the way I do inside PEP FIT. 💚

Fitness should help your life feel better…not harder.

Which one gave you the biggest ICK? ⬇️

Seriously. One of the BEST stress relievers in a doctor’s office is simply moving your body.

Whether you’re there for:
• your own appointment
• an aging parent
• your spouse
• or your kids

Walking helps regulate your nervous system, lowers stress hormones, improves circulation, and gives your brain something productive to focus on instead of anxiety. Even a few laps around the waiting room can help you feel more grounded and in control.

When I used to go with my hubs to appointments, he would quietly walk laps around the waiting room instead of sitting still. At first I thought it was just a “him thing”…but honestly? It makes SO much sense. Your body was never designed to process stress by sitting motionless in a plastic chair under fluorescent lights. 😅

And here’s the best part…once you start walking, don’t be surprised if someone else joins in. You might accidentally start a waiting room walking club. 😂

Movement doesn’t always have to happen in a gym.
Sometimes the most powerful movement is simply choosing not to stay stuck in stress.

Save this reminder for the next time life feels heavy. ❤️

…and most people don’t realize it until they almost fall, tweak their back, or feel unstable doing everyday things.

If you’ve been around here awhile, you already know I LOVE single-leg movements 👏 In today’s reel I’m demonstrating a kettlebell single leg deadlift + bent over row combo — and yes, there’s a level for EVERYONE:
✨ Chair-assisted option
✨ B-stance option
✨ Full single-leg version

Why do I program these so often in PEP Fit? Because real life happens one leg at a time.
Think about it:
➡️ Walking up stairs
➡️ Stepping over toys/bookbags/laundry baskets
➡️ Getting out of the car
➡️ Catching yourself when you trip
➡️ Bending over to pick something up while carrying groceries

Single-leg work improves:
✔️ Balance & stability
✔️ Coordination
✔️ Core strength
✔️ Hip strength
✔️ Injury prevention
✔️ Confidence in your body

And this combo movement is a powerhouse because you’re training:
🔥 Posterior chain strength
🔥 Back strength & posture
🔥 Core control
🔥 Balance
🔥 Grip strength
…all at the same time.

Functional fitness = training your body for LIFE, not just the gym 💪

Save this reel so you can try it later and follow for more realistic fitness tips & movement breakdowns from PEP FIT.

Teachers - You spent the entire school year building healthy habits… and summer is trying to convince you to “just wing it.” ☀️🍉

You learned how to prep meals even when life felt chaotic.
You figured out how to nourish yourself between classes, meetings, grading papers, and surviving on overstimulation and caffeine 😅

And now summer hits and suddenly the structure is gone.
Pool days. Camp drop offs. Vacation mode. Random snacky afternoons. Staying up later. Running kids everywhere.

But here’s the thing…
Your body still needs fuel.
Your energy still matters.
And the habits you built during the school year? They are the exact thing that will help you ENJOY summer instead of feeling sluggish, bloated, exhausted, and constantly starting over in August.

Meal prep doesn’t have to look perfect this summer.
It can look simpler. Easier. More flexible.

Pre-cut fruit.
Protein ready to grab.
Easy lunches between camp runs.
Snacks packed before the pool.
A plan so you aren’t surviving off your kids’ goldfish crackers and leftover popsicles by 3pm 🙃

Summer is not a reason to lose yourself.
It’s a chance to prove your healthy lifestyle can fit REAL life.

Consistency > perfection. Every single time.

☀️ If you’re a teacher committed to NOT starting over this fall… drop a “SUMMER” below.

Today we honor the heroes who gave everything for the freedoms we often take for granted. 🇺🇸

At PEP FIT, we talk a lot about strength… but today is a reminder that the deepest kind of strength is sacrifice, courage, and service to something bigger than yourself.

So while you move your body today — whether it’s a workout, a walk with your family, or simply taking a deep breath in the sunshine — remember that the ability to do those ordinary things freely came at an extraordinary cost for many families.

Move with gratitude today. Love your people a little harder.
And never take your health, freedom, or time for granted. ❤️

We remember. We honor. We thank you. 🇺🇸

This “horse stance” pose is one of my FAVORITE movements for hip mobility, strength, and stability 🔥
And no…hip mobility isn’t just for athletes or people doing yoga on a mountain top 😂 It matters in REAL LIFE.

Think about it👇
• Getting down on the floor to play with your kids or grandkids
• Squatting to pick up laundry baskets or groceries
• Stepping out of the car without feeling stiff
• Walking up stairs without your hips and low back screaming at you
• Catching yourself when you trip or step awkwardly off a curb

When your hips are tight and weak, your body starts borrowing movement from places that shouldn’t have to compensate…usually your low back, knees, or ankles 😵‍💫

This pose helps improve:
✨ Hip mobility
✨ Hip strength
✨ Balance & stability
✨ Posture
✨ Body awareness
✨ Longevity in movement

And here’s the thing nobody talks about enough:
Mobility is freedom!
Freedom to move confidently.
Freedom to stay independent.
Freedom to KEEP doing the things you love as you age.
So here’s your challenge👇

Hold this horse stance for :30 seconds and tell me in the comments… Were your legs shaking? 😅🔥

Do you walk into a gym and randomly pick machines? Do you scroll workouts online hoping one is “right” for you? Do you push too hard and quit because you feel overwhelmed? Or maybe…you do nothing because you’re scared to do it wrong.

I need you to know something: You are NOT lazy. You are not broken. You probably just were never taught HOW to move your body in a way that feels safe, sustainable, and purposeful.

Some people come to fitness after scary blood work. Some because they’re exhausted all the time. Some because osteoporosis runs in their family and they want to stay strong as they age. Some because they realized getting off the floor shouldn’t feel impossible. Some because they want to keep up with their kids. Some because deep down…they know their future health depends on the choices they make today.

That’s why I care so deeply about what I do. When I sit down and program workouts for my PEP FIT crew, I’m not throwing random exercises together. Every movement has intention. Every workout has a purpose. Every progression is designed to help you become stronger, more capable, more confident, and more independent for LIFE.

And the thing is… I don’t just coach these workouts. I DO them too! I believe in this process with my whole heart. I believe functional fitness changes lives. I believe movement is medicine. I believe we deserve to age feeling capable — not fragile.

This isn’t about punishment. This isn’t about shrinking yourself. This is about building a body that supports the life you want to live.

You do not have to figure this out alone. I’m right here.
Helping people learn how to move their bodies safely and confidently isn’t just my job… it’s my passion and my life’s work. ❤️

If you’ve been told you “need to exercise” but don’t know where to begin, DM me “READY” and let’s talk about where YOU start. 🤝

Lateral movement is one of the MOST underrated things you can train for strength, balance, coordination, and brain health. Because life doesn’t happen standing still.

It happens when your toddler suddenly zig-zags through a parking lot. When your kid cuts across the soccer field and you have to QUICK pivot to chase after them. When you step off a curb wrong but your body is strong and reactive enough to catch itself before a fall.

That ability? It’s trainable.

Lateral shuffles aren’t just “cardio.” They teach your body how to decelerate, stabilize, react quickly, and move with control in multiple directions — which is exactly how real life works.

The cognitive benefits? HUGE. 🧠 Side-to-side movement challenges coordination, reaction time, spatial awareness, and communication between your brain and body. You’re not just training muscles…you’re training your nervous system to respond faster and smarter.

THIS is why functional fitness matters. Not just for smaller jeans. Not just for calories burned. But so you can move through life confidently. Catch yourself when you stumble. Keep up with your kids. Feel athletic, capable, and independent for years to come.

Are YOU ready to Train for LIFE…not just aesthetics? 💪 DM READY and I will send you all the details to join the PEP FIT FAM! 💚
