Why is yoga such a no-brainer for so many different folks?
Yoga is popular because even when restful or slow, the practice supports core strength, postural integrity, and stability!
For one, yoga has the client develop a gentle bodily awareness, meaning that mind to muscle connection is fostered mindfully, and can be a way to ground during practice. This way, your brain recognizes and registers where your body is positioned in space a lot more efficiently- which strengthens reflexes.
You donāt need expensive equipment, it is approachable ALL ages, and it helps build stamina, support, and stability without an influx of adrenaline.
This can be especially helpful for fraught and traumatized nervous brains in āsurvival modeā, as traditional cardio can be too aggressive for some starting their fitness journeys.
If you know someone whoād like to develop more body awareness, stability, and the mind-muscle connection in a gentle way, perhaps they need some yoga sprinkled in!
