In groups, behavior spreads through observation and imitation. When one person moves, acts, or behaves in a certain way, others tend to unconsciously mirror or adapt to it.
In team dynamics
• Momentum is contagious: If a few team members become proactive, engaged, or energetic, others often follow.
• Norms form through repetition: What people see others doing becomes the “default” behavior.
• Leadership by action: Teams often mirror the pace, attitude, and communication style of influential members (not just formal leaders).
