What happens after the first breakthrough in electric work class ROVs? The real work begins.

In the latest Ocean Robotics Planet issue, Oceaneering’s Nick Rouge shares how the Momentum™ Electric ROV program has moved beyond initial validation into extended endurance testing and refinement—where real-world operational data is now shaping the next phase of development.

Testing is helping to:
✅ Inform component selection
✅ Reveal where design updates are needed
✅ Demonstrate the value of resiliency to individual component failures

This is how we move from concept to confidence—building systems designed for longer, more reliable subsea operations, including campaigns of up to 30 days.

Big projects don’t succeed because one thing goes right — they succeed because teams coordinate thousands of details and keep delivering offshore.

Earlier this year, we mobilized into a remote region and successfully deployed BORIS (Blue Ocean Well Intervention System) in the Caspian Sea, completing commissioning and system testing in challenging conditions.

Now, the campaign is moving forward with multiple wells executed to date, supported by specialized intervention services and a truly global team working across planning, logistics, engineering, and offshore operations.
