💚🖤 PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONS… AND NOW THEY’RE OFF TO NATIONALS! 🖤💚
What a weekend for our Central Saanich Extreme U17A Van Helvoirt team!
After 10 months of hard work, dedication, and relentless commitment, these girls entered the U17A Provincial Championships at Softball City with something to prove. Moving up from B to A last season meant facing the highest level of competition in the province—and they rose to every challenge.
The team finished round robin play with a perfect 4-0 record, earning the #1 seed heading into Championship Sunday. From there, they defeated a strong Richmond Islanders squad before punching their ticket to the gold medal game with an unforgettable walk-off grand slam against Abbotsford.
The championship game was one for the ages. Despite an incredible offensive battle and a game that showcased the power and excitement of elite fastball, this U17A squad finished the weekend as 2026 U17A Provincial Champions! 🥇
Their provincial run was nothing short of remarkable:
🥎 7-0 record
🥎 61 runs scored
🥎 Only 13 runs allowed
🥎 14 home runs
🥎 5 mercy-rule victories
This championship is a testament to the countless hours spent training, the commitment of our athletes, the guidance of an exceptional coaching staff, and the unwavering support of families, volunteers, and our entire Extreme community.
As BC1, our U17A team will now proudly represent British Columbia at the Canadian Nationals in Calgary from July 29 – August 2, competing against the best teams in the country! 👊
Congratulations to every player, coach, and family on an incredible achievement. The entire Central Saanich Extreme family couldn’t be prouder.
💚 Good luck in Calgary—we’ll all be cheering you on! 🇨🇦 🥎

As our regular season begins to wind down, we are already planning some exciting new things for Fall Ball — so stay tuned!
At Central Saanich Extreme, we are more than a fastball association — we are a community built for girls, by people who believe deeply in creating opportunities for female athletes to grow, compete, lead, and belong.
For over 30 years, Extreme has provided an all-girls fastball pathway right here in Central Saanich, supporting players from their very first season in Learn to Play all the way through U21. Whether a player is picking up a glove for the first time or working toward competing at a higher level, there is a place for her here 💖
What makes Extreme special is not just the sport itself. It is the mentorship between older and younger players. It is the friendships formed in the dugout. It is the confidence that grows with every practice, every game, every tournament, and every chance to step onto the field surrounded by teammates who are walking the same path.
Our athletes have the opportunity to compete locally, provincially, nationally, and potentially beyond. But just as importantly, they learn teamwork, resilience, leadership, sportsmanship, and pride in representing their community.
We are proud to offer a well-established girls’ fastball program with experienced coaches, dedicated volunteers, development opportunities, competitive pathways, and a strong sense of belonging from the youngest divisions through to our senior teams.
Central Saanich Extreme has always been committed to growing the game for girls. As interest in girls’ sport continues to grow in our community, we believe it is more important than ever for families to know that Extreme offers a proven, supportive, and empowering environment.
This is where confidence begins.
This is where friendships grow.
This is where girls belong.
This is Central Saanich Extreme 🥎
Stay tuned for more details on our Fall Ball and Winter Clinic opportunities — we can’t wait to welcome the next generation of Extreme players 🤩

💚🥎 A Special Moment Worth Sharing 🥎💚
Recently charleighsjourney checked another item off her bucket list when she had the opportunity to throw out the first pitch before a Central Saanich Extreme U17A game.
For those who may not know her story, Charleigh is living with Batten disease, a rare, progressive, and terminal neurological disorder that affects children and their families in unimaginable ways
In a recent post, Charleigh’s family shared one of the many difficult realities of raising a child with a terminal illness — wondering what activities she might have loved and what she would have excelled at. While no one can answer those questions, it was incredibly special to see Charleigh take her place on the diamond, surrounded by athletes who were proud to call her a teammate.
If you’d like to support Charleigh and her family, please consider following Charleigh’s Journey, learning more about Batten disease, and helping spread awareness.
Every share, conversation, and act of kindness helps shine a light on families facing rare diseases.
The only treatment available, Brineura, helps slow the progression of the disease, keeps her seizure-free, and gives her more time to create precious memories with her family.
This GoFundMe was created to help fund Charleigh’s ongoing treatment and care after the difficult decision was made to discontinue provincial funding for her medication.
If you’re able, please consider donating, sharing her story, or following Charleigh’s Journey. Every contribution and share helps give Charleigh more time, more stability, and more opportunities to experience the joy she brings to everyone around her💚

🥎 A Little Late, But Definitely Not Forgotten! 🥎
Congratulations to our Central Saanich Extreme U13B Lampard team on an incredible showing at Districts! 👊
After an amazing weekend of softball, the girls battled their way to a silver medal finish, coming up just short in a nail-biting championship game. Their determination, teamwork, resilience, and heart were on full display every step of the way.

🥎 Tuesday Team Talk 🥎
The ball always finds you again after an error. What matters isn’t the mistake—it’s your response.
In softball (and in life), effort and attitude are always in your control.
Softball will test you. You’ll make errors, and the ball will come right back to you. When it does, choose confidence over frustration, effort over excuses, and attitude over adversity 👊
