Throwback to last Saturday: 🔥💪🎉

The rain threatened the day, but we did it anyway. 🤪 THANK YOU to our VOLUNTEERS! 👏

Along with barrels, chains and other weird strongman things, there were:

✅ 23 vendors bringing wellness, fitness and local flavor.
✅ 50+ volunteers powering every detail, moving nearly 10 tons of equipment.
✅ 40 amateur + 25 pro athletes from 7 countries and 13 states throwing down
✅ Competition judging by absolute LEGENDS
✅ Over 1,000 people filling Elmwood Park

✨ Highlights: StrongKidz Zone by the Play for All Foundation bringing recreation to everyone, Dash Flash Mob with the Rescue Mission of Roanoke celebrating 20 years of "Move your feet so others can eat," Roanoke Taekwondo demos creating awareness for anti-bullying + su***de, Star City Foam Flingers (not Slingers OR Fingers) with custom blasters and club info, Roanoke City Police Department supporting the Hero Division athletes, first responders staffing our First Aid tent from Burton Center for Arts & Technology + Radford University Emergency Services program, naloxone training by the Roanoke Valley Collective Response empowering people to save lives. ✨

⭐ HELP NEEDED ⭐

Every year, we make sure to have EMT's on-site throughout the day. We are SO grateful to Burton Center for Arts & Technology and their EMT instructor for bringing their expertise and students to staff our event from 8:30-12. We are in need of 2-3 EMTs to take the evening shift from 12-6.

We've tried multiple places throughout the valley, but all are either already committed or understaffed. If you or someone you know is a trained EMT who's willing and able to offer your services, please contact us as soon as possible at [email protected].

Our number one rule for our athletes is to stay safe. While that's followed very closely by "have fun!" we want to make sure our athletes and guests have that safety back-up just in case. 💜
