If you are planning to attend the Bernice A. Tom Memorial on August 26, the Bernice Tom Memorial Banquet on August 27, or the Bernice Tom Memorial Seminar August 28-30, 2026, please RSVP on the Sunset Cliffs Aikido website as soon as possible. Space is limited.

BERNICE TOM MEMORIAL

We want to inform you and invite you to three memorial events that are coming up in August.

First,

The Bernice Tom Sensei Memorial will be held on her birthday, which is Wednesday, August 26, 6-8:00 PM at the dojo.

There will be a projector display of photos. Please send any that you would like to include.

There will be time for each person who wishes to talk, to share what they would like to say.

Bernice’s wonderful piano teacher, Chase Hills, will be on hand, playing some of her favorite practice pieces, using her own first piano.

Comfortable seating will be provided, as needed, based on the RSVP information.

Second,

You are also invited to the Bernice Tom Memorial Banquet, hosted by the Tom family, the following evening, Thursday, August 27, 2026 6-8:00 PM at Jasmine Seafood Restaurant.

Third,

The Bernice Tom Sensei Memorial Aikido Seminar will begin the following evening, Friday August 28, 6-8:00 PM at the dojo. Some of Bernice Tom Sensei’s longest time Dohai training partners who are Dojo Cho’s and senior Sensei’s will be teaching in her memory.
