This September, our Member of the Month is Mackenzie Masters! 💙 Congratulations, Mackenzie! We are so excited to share a little bit more about Mackenzie and her Pilates journey:
1. What made you start Pilates? “I was looking for a form of exercise that I would not absolutely loathe while doing it, lol! I was brand new to exercise beyond walking, so I wanted something I could learn in a guided setting and Pilates was perfect! I felt CP was an excellent place to learn Pilates in a safe and guided environment where instructors would ensure proper form and an interesting experience!”
2. What is your favorite CP format? “I love the reformer flow classes! Even though I’ve done over 200 now across different studios, they’re always the perfect mix of intensity and challenge without being too fast-paced or complex.”
3. Do you have any goals you want to achieve through Pilates? “Become stronger, improve mobility and flexibility, and look more toned.”
4. What is one benefit you have seen from Pilates? “ I feel better physically and mentally for sure. Completing a Pilates class makes me feel like I accomplished at least one thing in my day and did something my future self will thank me for!”
5. What surprised you about Pilates? “Probably the variation in what people call Pilates. I tried some classes at other studios and it barely resembled the Pilates styles I learned at CP or on YouTube. I think it’s cool to mix Pilates with other forms of exercise like strength training, it was just really unexpected when I encountered it for the first time!”
6. What are your hobbies outside of Club Pilates? “I’m getting my PhD which is both a career and hobby because it involves tons of reading and learning! I also love long walks on the river or Bayshore, trying new restaurants, hanging out with friends, going to the beach, and enjoying local coffee!”
We can’t wait to celebrate Mackenzie all September and continue being a part of her Pilates journey! 💙
Do Pilates. Do Life.
