Happy Labor Day tomorrow. WOD time will be at 9 am. Bring a friend for a fun buddy WOD.
Before you can lift heavy, move efficiently, or perform at your best, you need speed and power.
Too often, fitness programs focus only on getting stronger or building endurance. But true fitness also means being able to move quickly, explosively, and with control. That's where speed and power training come in.
At CrossFit Free State, we incorporate movements like Olympic lifts, box jumps, medicine ball throws, sprints, and explosive kettlebell work because they teach your body to produce force rapidly. These workouts improve coordination, reaction time, balance, and athleticism while helping you become more resilient in everyday life.
Speed and power training isn't just for athletes. It helps you react faster, reduce your risk of falls as you age, improve bone density, and make everyday tasks—from climbing stairs to picking up your kids—feel easier and more confident.
A well-rounded fitness program doesn't just make you stronger. It helps you become strong, fast, and capable.
That's why speed and power aren't extras in our programming—they're essential.
⚡ Train for more than the gym. Train for life.
CrossFit is for everyone!
One of the simplest movements in fitness might also be one of the most important: carries.
Farmer carries, suitcase carries, overhead walks — they build real-world strength, grip endurance, core stability, posture, and mental toughness. The best part? They transfer directly into everyday life and nearly every movement we do in CrossFit.
CrossFit recently called carries “the most undercoached movement in your programming,” and they make a strong case why more athletes should be doing them weekly.
Simple doesn’t mean easy. Pick it up. Brace. Walk. Get stronger.

Murph can be intimidating but like everything in CrossFit you can scale to your fitness level.
It's not about doing it RX or in a vest. It's about pushing yourself, being a part of the community, and participating in a Hero WOD to the best of your abilities.
Murph is coming up on May 25th.
It's time to get out those running shoes and get some squats, push ups, and pullups in to get ready.
If you're ready to start getting fitter or just prepare for Murph send us a message.
