Happy ! Here's a sweet snapshot of the next generation of public health leaders.
According to 2025 ASPPH Institutional Reporting data, our student community is made up of:
🍩 45% Master's students

🍩 13% Doctoral students
Together, that's 75,962 students preparing to shape the future of public health. We are so proud of each and every one!

The instinct to care deeply for others is what makes so many public health professionals extraordinary at what they do. is a reminder that caring for communities should also include caring for yourself. Don’t forget to put yourself first sometimes. 💚

This week, ASPPH staff connected with current and prospective students in the DC area to learn more about their graduate school search experience and the resources that matter most to them.
Hearing directly from students about how they discover programs, navigate resources, and make decisions is invaluable as ASPPH continues working to better support future public health leaders.
Thank you to everyone who shared their time, perspectives, and thoughtful feedback.

Earlier this week, ASPPH joined a lawsuit with sister organizations opposing the Department of Education’s recently finalized RISE rule, which narrows the definition of “professional degrees” and limits federal student loan access for students pursuing public health degrees and other health professions degrees.
This rule creates significant barriers to public health education at a time when the nation continues to face major workforce shortages across public health systems. The filing emphasizes that MPH and DrPH programs provide advanced professional training essential for careers in governmental public health, health systems, community organizations, research institutions, and emergency response.
