“Bésame Mucho” was written by Mexican composer Consuelo Velázquez and went on to become one of the most widely recorded Spanish-language songs in history.

Perhaps the most remarkable part of its story: Velázquez said she had never been kissed when she wrote a song that imagined kissing someone as though it might be the last time.

A melody that traveled far beyond Mexico and became part of musical history.
