At Step It Up we work hard on laying a solid foundation in body and brain development for our therapy riders.

Research shows regular physical activity is associated with a 28–32% lower risk of depression. For equestrian women, riding offers more than movement. It combines physical activity with focus, problem-solving, time outdoors, connection, and the unique relationship between horse and rider. The barn can become the place where we reset, reconnect, and return to ourselves. Especially after 35, riding is not just about the sport. How it Works: The horse's walking gait provides variable, rhythmic, and repetitive sensory input that mirrors the pelvic movements of human walking, forcing the rider's core and trunk to dynamically adjust and respond.

At Step It Up each rider has their own instructor to facilitate therapy activities and lessons this ensures that each rider receives individual attention.
