BRAND REVIEW | BOSS FORGE 50LB BRAID

A big thank you to Steve Pretorius for sending in his review of the Boss Forge 50lb braid.

Steve put together a serious surf setup with:

Nemmis 14.6ft 6–8oz
Tesoro 14,000 PA
Boss Forge 50lb

The Boss Forge uses a 12X PE fibre construction with an additional monofilament polymer core, designed to improve durability, casting performance and overall handling while keeping the braid supple.

Steve's take:

Excellent casting potential
The smooth, supple construction helps reduce friction, making it well suited to long surf rods where casting distance matters.

Excellent strength-to-diameter ratio
At 50lb / 22.6kg and 0.27mm, the Forge offers plenty of pulling power without going unnecessarily thick. For surf fishing, Steve feels 50lb provides a great all-round balance.

Good abrasion resistance
The dense 12X construction and additional polymer core are designed to provide added durability when fishing around rocks, structure and other abrasive areas.

BOSS FORGE 50LB

50LB | 22.6KG | 0.27MM | PE3 | 300M | 12X + 1 CORE | MOSS GREEN

A serious surf setup with a line that balances casting distance, line capacity and pulling power.

Thanks again to Steve Pretorius for sharing his setup and putting the Boss Forge to the test.

Have you fished Boss Forge yet? Let us know what you think.

Braid Review

BOSS BRAID FORGE 20LB & 40LB 12X +1 – BUILT FOR PERFORMANCE

When the conditions are right, your gear needs to perform. I put the Boss Braid Forge 12X +1 in 20lb and 40lb to the test, and it didn't disappoint.

The premium 12 PE strand + 1 monofilament core construction creates a smooth, perfectly round braid that is extremely thin in diameter for its breaking strain. This allows for longer casts, increased spool capacity, and effortless line flow through the guides, while still delivering outstanding strength with virtually zero stretch.

Highlights:

Extremely thin diameter
Longer, smoother casts
Excellent abrasion resistance
Incredible bite sensitivity
Reduced wind knots
300m spool
Available in Moss Green, Olive Green and Yellow

From the first cast to the final retrieve, Boss Braid Forge gave me the confidence to fish harder, cast farther, and stay connected to every bite.

Boss Braid Forge 20lb & 40lb – Take control of every cast.
