Gents Pennant Representative and long term member of the Club for over 38 years, Mark Draper, one of Australia’s leading tennis coaches, recently featured on The Sit-Down podcast, reflecting on his journey from professional player to coaching some of Australia’s leading players, including Rinky Hijikata and Adam Walton. He discusses his coaching philosophy, the importance of developing local talent and his desire to give back by sharing his experience with the next generation.

Mark Draper has been a key figure in guiding Australia’s professional talent, and he joined The Sit-Down podcast this week to reflect on his journey as both player and coach.

⛳ KEPERRA JUNIOR ON TOP AT THE GARY PLAYER CLASSIC! 🏆

After three rounds at the Gary Player Classic at Pacific Golf Club, it’s our very own Cooper Field (teeing off below) who sits atop the overall leaderboard!

Cooper is currently 3-under par, holding a narrow two-shot lead heading into the final round.

Several other Keperra juniors are also putting together strong performances, with Daniel Gould, Ben Dowling, Bailey Ellis, Oakley Hall, Holam Law and Jensen Williamson all looking set to make the cut in their respective grades.

Good luck to Cooper and all our Keperra juniors for the final round!

The New Faces at KCGC 's Terrace

Members and guests will have noticed a few new faces at the Club, namely in our new Terrace area. We would like to introduce Gabriel and Nate.

Golfers will quickly become familiar with Gabriel, as he will be at the coffee machine from the early hours of the morning. Gabriel's coffee has already received great feedback in the short time he has been at the Club. Born and bred in Brittany, France, and spent his teenage years working at his mother’s regional restaurant, so he is no stranger to the hospitality industry.

A keen golfer, he has been in Brisbane for six months and lives locally.

Helping Gabriel is Nate, who is one of the Club’s many juniors. Nate will be assisting the Terrace team during the busier times of the weekend and, at such a young age, already has experience behind a coffee machine.

As a side note, the Club wishes to congratulate Nate (Centre front below), who recently had a win at the Tee Mates Tournament at Maroochy River GC. Great work, Nate!

Cost: $49.95 per child

These sessions are designed for beginner and newer junior golfers, with a focus on making golf fun, engaging and accessible for kids of all abilities.

⛳ 3-Day Intermediate Junior Camp

Dates: Wednesday 30 September – Friday 2 October 2026
Time: 9:00am – 3:00pm
Cost: $360 per child

This camp is aimed at intermediate junior golfers who are looking to develop their skills, build confidence and take their game to the next level.

A MESSAGE FROM CHRIS McCOURT

To everyone at Keperra Golf Club, friends and family I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your help, kindness and support.

It has certainly been a shock to go from being out on the golf course one day to being in hospital the next. I am now getting the treatment I need and staying positive.

I first started playing golf at Keperra 44 years ago, and the club has become such an important part of my life. It has never felt like a workplace to me, it is a place I genuinely love. Even after driving through the traffic to get there, a sense of calm comes over me as soon as I arrive at the golf club. Keperra truly is my second home.

Over the years, teaching golf to people of all ages and abilities, juniors, women, seniors and everyone in between has brought me an enormous amount of joy. Seeing people learn the game, improve and develop their own love of golf is something I have always been passionate about. I have also treasured the occasional seniors’ comp and, most of all, the many rounds playing with family and friends.

After my treatment is over (and they give me back my driver’s licence) I hope to continue teaching, playing and being part of Keperra for many years to come.

From both Robyn and myself, thank you again for every message, every offer of help and all the support you have shown us. It has meant more to us than I can put into words.

I look forward to seeing you all back at my second home soon.

Keperra Terrace Now Open

After an initial soft opening yesterday, we’re excited to welcome Members and guests to the Club’s newly refurbished Terrace Food & Beverage area, providing a great new space to grab a coffee, enjoy something to eat or relax with a drink before or after your round.

Whether you’re an early riser getting ready for your morning game, meeting friends for a coffee, or looking to unwind after 18 holes, the Terrace is ready to welcome you.
