2016 👇
I had just competed at the 2015 but finished the year with a back injury that I was recovering from.
There were A LOT of photos of food. I was doing the Zone diet and then started tracking macros. I didn’t start coaching nutrition until 2018 though!
I was judging without a clue that I would be competing with him in 2019 and standing on the top of the podium on the very same floor. 🥇
I was working Level 1 seminars most weekends and have lots of selfies to prove it.
I worked my ass off to figure out how to fix my back and after 22 months I was on the floor competing again.
I started to get very lean but I never actually trained without my shirt, I only did that for Instagram. It was years later that I got to the point that I accepted my body enough to train without a shirt on (something I still sometimes struggle with).
These were the days of full time coaching at CrossFit Rocks in Brisbane where I lived for 5 years before moving to Melbourne to train at CrossFit Frankston end of 2018.
And do you remember when it was mandatory for every single crossfitter to post photos of handstands wherever they were on holiday somewhere?
And, of course, nothing says 2016 more than aviators and very dark eyebrows from fresh feathering.
