Fun day out with at there RimFire PRS comp today. Cool crowd, cool stages, and heaps of different distances: 20y-26y-50y-93y-100y-105y-132y-150y-200y so much DOPE.

Smashing targets in comps, with ya mates, or out on the hunt doesn’t start when you see your first target, or the buzzer goes. It’s with range practice with correct technique, good drills and processes, and perfect elevation and windage data.

We regularly have brand new, to 25yr+ veterans, and ProShooters on the same course, with everyone gaining education and improvements.

•Fundamentals theory / practical
•Personal Shot-routine
•Personal Rifle set-up
•Zeroing & technique drills
•External Ballistics
•Ballistic software theory & calibration
•Wind reading and calls

Still putting this video together, but there’s heaps going on here. And we’ve some interesting data coming.
So many questions:
• More than anything what’s your rifle system really capable of?
• Are we shooting enough rounds / groups to get statically significant data?
• Is that rifle really zeroed?
• Is that “node” really worth chasing?

Wind. Get on your spotting scope, or binos, and watch full-of-shot and trace. Compare your wind hold and its result down range to what the wind speed was when the trigger was pressed. Calibrate this with what you are hearing and feeling with an anemometer (Kestrel AU).

It’s our experience that spotting and calling wind can be even more beneficial than just shooting in it.
