Canberra Olympic FC is proud to announce that Expressions of Interest are now open for trials for the 2027 Canberra Olympic aKIDemy High Performance Program.

Designed for talented and ambitious young footballers, the aKIDemy is a year-round high-performance development program for:
⚽ Boys U9–U13�⚽ Girls U10–U13

The program provides players with a clear development pathway through Canberra Olympic, with opportunities to progress into our NPL program and potentially into the Western Sydney Wanderers Academy pathway.

What does the aKIDemy program offer?
🔹 High-performance coaching focused on developing technical, tactical and physical excellence.
🔹 Pre-season fixtures against NSW NPL clubs, exposing players to high-quality competition and challenging environments to accelerate their development.
🔹 Training and potential trial opportunities with Western Sydney Wanderers, providing exposure to a professional academy environment and a potential pathway towards A-League football.
🔹 A direct pathway into the Canberra Olympic NPL Program, providing players with the opportunity to continue their development within one of the Capital's established NPL programs.

This is an exciting opportunity for young players in Canberra who want to challenge themselves, develop their game and pursue the next level of their football journey.

🏆 GT Football Player of the Month — Oliver Tan! 🏆

What a superstar! 🌟

Since the beginning of GT Football in Canberra, Oli has been an absolute standout. His hard work, commitment and consistency never cease to amaze us, and the progress he has made has been phenomenal.

That dedication has now seen him recognised as one of the first players retained for the Under 14 NPL squad next year..an achievement he thoroughly deserves! 👏🏽🔥

Oli, you have shown incredible perseverance from day one. You’re an absolute joy to coach.. not only for me, but for every coach at GT Football. Your talent certainly doesn’t go unnoticed, but it’s your attitude and consistency that make us especially proud.

We caught up with George to talk about what makes Olympic special, his approach to building a high-performance team, the values that drive him as a coach, and what excites him most about 2027.

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads and father figures out there! Today is about recognising everything you do for your families.. the support, sacrifices, guidance and plenty of questionable dad jokes along the way 🤣🙌🏽

A special Happy Father’s Day to my Baba. Thank you for always being there, supporting me through every stage of life and setting the example for the father I want to be for my own kids.

Dean Tassopoulos… look how little you were when we first started together!!! 🥹❤️

You came to me freshly nine years old, straight from park football. We put in the work, got you into Marconi, and you absolutely bossed it there for two years ‼️ all while continuing to train with me two or three times every week.

I’ve honestly never seen work ethic in a kid like yours, Koka. You’re an absolute machine, and I know you’re going to become a top, top player one day.

Today, we celebrate you earning your place in Futboltec’s full-time U12 squad for 2027 🙏🏽☝🏽🔥

Just for context, 20 of the 21 players from last year’s intake progressed into A-League U13 environments the following year. Keep believing, superstar. Keep working, keep aiming for the stars, and you’ll be right there too.

No matter how far you go, you’ll always be that little innocent boy I met all those years ago ❤️

This is the GT method. This is the GT pathway. Although we’re no longer based in Sydney, we have a fantastic relationship with Futboltec.. and when our best players are ready, there is a genuine pathway waiting for them 🙌🏽🙌🏽

THIS IS WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT 🙏🏽🔵⚪️

At the beginning of the year, Emerson could barely get to 100 juggles.

Fast forward a few months, and he’s officially the FIRST player at GT Football to hit 1,000 🤯⚽️

The challenge was simple: first to 1,000 juggles wins a brand-new pair of boots of their choice. Emerson backed himself, put in the work and earned every bit of it 👟🔥

It’s not just about the boots or the number. It’s about what happens when you stay consistent, keep working and genuinely love the game.

Super proud of you, dude. Wishing you nothing but the best on your football journey. This is just the beginning 💪🏽🙏🏽🔵⚪️
