I was standing on a corner... The Darwin Cricket Club, known as the Eagles, is an amateur to semi-professional cricket club based in Darwin, NT.
Located at the picturesque Kahlin Oval in the inner city suburb of Larrakeyah which is a five minute walk from the CBD. The Club has a strong history and fine tradition of producing premier cricketers to the Darwin & District Cricket Competition and NT Representative duties while also attracting first class players to the Club during the winter. Vale Peter Dickman
Darwin Cricket Club is deeply saddened by the passing of Peter Dickman.
Peter was an icon around our club and a significant contributor to our junior program for well over a decade. His impact will be remembered by generations of young players he coached, encouraged and helped develop along the way.
For our older members, Peter will also be remembered as a fierce competitor on the field, but always a mate off it. He was a genuine club person who gave an enormous amount of his time and energy to Darwin Cricket Club and the people within it.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Peter’s wife Rachel, his children Jacob and Romee, and the wider Dickman family.
A service to celebrate Peter’s life will be held at St Mary’s Cathedral on Friday, 4 September at 3.00pm.
Peter leaves a lasting mark on our club and will be greatly missed.
Rest in peace, Dicko.
