Another epic finals week at Pantherland!

Our Women’s Pennant A take on Essendon at Hawthorn on Saturday, while our Women’s Reserves face Waverley at the State Netball & Hockey Centre on Sunday.

Both teams are fighting for a spot in next week’s Grand Final, and they need all the Panther support they can get!

We’re already celebrating with our Men’s Pennant B and Women’s Metro teams locked in for the Grand Final next week.

Weekly Wrap finals round 1 edition 💛🩵💙

What a weekend of finals! Mentone was absolutely blessed to have 5/7 home game finals across Saturday and Sunday. The weather was amazing, the sun was shining, and it was great to see Pantherland packed with so many supporters across the weekend. We also loved seeing all the signs around the club, true Panther spirit!

A huge congratulations to our Women’s Metro and Men’s Pennant B teams, who both secured their spots in the Grand Final.

Our Women’s Metro put on an incredible performance, coming away with a 2-0 win against southern, with Madam President slotting both goals with ease. The Men’s Pennant B had a very intense battle against Camberwell, with the game finishing 1-1 at full time. We backed our boys in the shootouts, and they delivered with a very impressive shootout win to book their place in the Grand Final.

We also have to congratulate our Women’s Premier League Reserves, who had an amazing game against MCC, coming away with a 2-1 win. A huge shoutout to Grace for an incredible stroke save and Hailey Crebbin and Izzy Torrington on their great goals to help secure the win.

Our Women’s Pennant A also move through to the next round of finals after a great 1-0 win against Footscray, thanks to a fantastic early goal from Lyndal Crisp. Good luck to our Premier Reserve and Pennant A ladies this weekend!

Sadly, our U12s, Men’s Metro and Men’s Pennant E just fell short and their finals campaigns have come to an end. However, what a season they have all had, and making finals is an incredible achievement. We are so proud of every team and everything they have achieved this season. Also another stroke to mention… who saw Sam Forbes great save 🔥🔥

Good luck to everyone for the remainder of the finals, and an even bigger good luck to our Men’s Open, who take on Doncaster tonight at 7:30pm and also our Men’s 40+ B who take on Dandenong tonight at 7:30pm for their spot in next week’s Grand Final.

We can’t believe how quickly this season has flown by! Some of our Panthers celebrated their final game of the year in our yellow and two blues for the season, while others fought right until the final whistle to secure their spot in finals!

We had some fantastic results over the weekend, including an incredible 11-2 win for Men’s Pennant B against PEGS and a 3-0 win for Men’s Pennant E against Doncaster. On the junior side, our U18s closed out their season in style with an awesome 6-0 win against Kingston. Even better, our goalie Georgia stepped up to take a stroke and secured the goal! Nothing like having a 1 on 1 goalie action! 😂

We also had a very special milestone, with Ben Bouwer umpiring his very first Women’s Pennant A match. He did an amazing job, well done, Ben!
