Yesterday’s downpour has left the courts very water‑logged, so regular social tennis won’t be running tomorrow 🌧️

Beginner Social Tennis will go ahead tomorrow from 3pm on the hard courts. This is a new weekly initiative that will run every Saturday alongside normal social tennis (when the grass courts aren't full of water 💦), until our beginners feel confident enough to join the main group. The social tennis run on the hard courts is intended for beginners only.

We’re hosting our inaugural Coaches Day Handicap Tournament, and everyone’s invited: beginners, parents, kids, and anyone keen for a fun hit. Register your name, come down, and get amongst it. Please note this tournament has a focus on mixing in with beginners and juniors. It’s a day for community and growth, not competition.

Social tennis will be running at the same time for those not wanting to register in the Coaches Day Tournament.

🙌 NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK

This week, Geraldton Tennis Centre proudly celebrates National Volunteer Week and the incredible people who keep our club running.

From our volunteer coaches helping juniors learn and grow, to committee members working behind the scenes, our grounds volunteers keeping the grass courts looking fantastic, bar and kitchen volunteers creating a welcoming club atmosphere, and the many members who step up to help at social tennis, sponsor days and special events — our club simply wouldn’t be the same without you 💚🎾

Volunteers are the heart of community sport, and we are so grateful for the time, energy and passion you give to Geraldton Tennis Centre.

This year’s theme, “Your Year to Volunteer,” is a great reminder that there’s always room for more people to get involved — whether it’s helping occasionally at events or joining up as a regular volunteer.

What a wonderful day at Geraldton Tennis Centre, with 65 ladies taking to the courts, plenty of pink, lots of laughs, and a fantastic community effort.

A huge thank you to our major sponsor, Pink Petticoat. We are so grateful for your ongoing support of this event. It was lovely to have Gemma, the new owner, join us and share more about her beautiful range of women’s lingerie, sleepwear, swimwear and underwear. Please support this great local business!

Entry funds and raffle money will once again be donated to Midwest Charity Begins at Home, supporting a woman in our region experiencing breast cancer.

Thank you to all our generous raffle donors, our organising committee — Daphne, Julie, Shauna, Stacey, Kat, Ebonie and Linda — and to Ebonie for making the raffles and decorations look stunning. Thanks also to Mel for the glittery photo backdrop, Julie from Total Uniforms for donating the best dressed prize, Brian and the grounds team for the beautiful courts and pink lines, and our bar and kitchen helpers for jumping in where needed.
