10 years in the top 4 for Yentel Caers as he takes 3rd overall in 2026 🥉

Since his maiden podium in 2016, Yentel hasn’t finished outside the top 4 in the overall rankings once, and this result affirms his legacy as one of the greatest athletes in the sport. But titles don’t define a career, the impact you leave on the sport does and Yentel continues to leave his mark on the freestyle discipline. Constantly innovating with Balz Muller and Lennart Neubauer, the three best in the world this year are also the ones smashing the ceiling on freestyle. His style, his power and his consistency are extraordinary and if the stats are anything to go by, we know for sure that Yentel will come back fighting again next year!

LENNART NEUBAUER 🇬🇷 • WINNER • MEN’S FREESTYLE • CITROËN WINDSURF WORLD CUP 2026�
Lennart Neubauer claimed his third Sylt title, adding to 2023 and 2025. The Greek beat Balz Müller in the semifinal, then Dieter Van der Eyken in the final, posting the highest scoring heat of the event - 38.18 points - with his usual power and precision.�
Van der Eyken was delighted with second place, his best result since his world title winning year in 2015. The Belgian pushed Neubauer all the way in the final but ultimately came up just short.�
Takumi Moriya took third after a tight B-Final against Balz Müller. With less than half a point separating them heading into the last minute, a slick spock c**o in the dying seconds sealed his first World Tour podium.
Müller finished fourth, just missing out on back-to-back podiums, but it was enough to leapfrog Yentel Caers into the Vice World Champion position overall. �
With just a single elimination completed in Sylt, Jacopo Testa, Yentel Caers, Steven Van Broeckhoven and Takuma Sugi all shared fifth. For Yentel Caers, the 2025 World Champion, a quarterfinals exit after an incredibly tight heat against Moriya, with less than a point between them, dashed his hopes of back-to-back World Titles and he had to settle for 3rd in the World Rankings this year. �

In loving memory of Pio Marasco

It’s with great sadness that we heard today of the passing of Pio Marasco following a long and brave battle against cancer.

Founder of Maui Fin Company (MFC), Pio was beyond passionate about what he did, he was a true innovator and gave so much to the windsurfing world.

Thank you for everything, Pio, You will be sorely missed, not only by the tour and the riders, but the whole windsurfing community and everyone else's lives you touched.

RIP, Pio (1969-2026).

That’s it for the Citroën Windsurf World Cup 2026!

We’ve had an epic week on the water with some great battles in the foil racing and a spectacular show in the freestyle. Sadly no wave competition was completed due to the right conditions never showing up.

Thank you Sylt for your warm welcome once again. It’s a highlight of the tour every year to see so many thousands of people show up, and line the beaches come rain or shine. Your support for the athletes is second to none!

Celebrating Sylt in the sunshine ☀️

After 9 intense days battling for glory, today the tension was over and it was all about celebrating another successful Citroën Windsurf World Cup on Sylt 🌎🏆🇩🇪

Congratulations to all our winners - Lennart Neubauer in the Men’s Freestyle and Matteo Iachino in the Men’s Foil Slalom. Sadly the stormy conditions that Sylt is so famous for never hit this week and the wave sailors were left without a competition - we are at mercy of the weather and this week it didn’t favour us. Congratulations further to Lennart for securing his second Freestyle World Title - proving this week he can do it in all conditions.

Thank you to all the crew, partners, sponsors and everyone involved in the organisation for a great week once again. See you next year!
