π 2026 STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS PATHWAY CONFIRMED π
The Jackson Ford Launceston Basketball Association and Basketball Tasmania are pleased to confirm the qualification pathway for the 2026 State Championships.
Teams will qualify through the Premier League RED competition, with the top three clubs in each age group earning a position at the 2026 State Championships.
Key Information:
β
Top 3 teams from each Premier League RED age group qualify
β
Qualification is determined by regular season ladder positions, not finals results
β
Where a club has multiple teams in an age group, those teams will be combined to field the club's strongest representative team
β
Players must represent the club they were rostered with during the 2025/26 Premier League season
β
Players must have qualified for Premier League Finals with their club to be eligible for State Championships
This pathway provides athletes with the opportunity to compete against the best players from across Tasmania while continuing to represent their club and the Launceston Basketball Association on the state stage.
We congratulate all players, coaches, volunteers and clubs who have earned qualification positions and look forward to seeing our athletes proudly represent the LBA at the 2026 State Championships.
Further information regarding participating teams, registrations and championship preparations will be provided directly to clubs.

π TEAM A OR TEAM B? KNOW BEFORE YOU PLAY! π
Every game has a Team A and Team B β but did you know it affects more than just where your team appears on the fixture?
To help games run smoothly, we've put together a quick guide covering:
β
Where each team sits on the scorebench
β
Uniform clash responsibilities
β
Scoresheet positioning
β
Why checking MyHoops before every game is important
Under LBA competition rules:
π Team B sits on the left-hand side of the scorebench
π Team A sits on the right-hand side of the scorebench
π If there is a uniform clash, Team A is required to change playing tops
π Players, coaches and team officials should be seated on the correct side of the scorebench
π± Fixtures, courts and game times can change. Before heading to the stadium, make sure you check MyHoops and keep notifications turned on.
A quick check before tip-off helps everyone enjoy a smoother game day experience.
